Love it. Great music to set to the tense tone for your little trek. I expect given more time you'd be able to attack in diff directions etc but I found it a fun challenge!

Art and audio are simple but effective, gameplay is engaging. Probably the best atmosphere I've seen so far.

This game is awesome! Very nice feeling! Although it got a bit repetetive. And those frogs where pretty sneaky with their jump attack! :)

Game is really good. It would be better if the attack were faster.

OOOOOH This game! Compo entry of Jam quality, impressive!

First Impressions:

Solid gameplay, NPC allies and simplistic art; this is a kind of retro I haven't seen in a very long time and am glad to see there are still people keeping this sort of "Flash era" tradition alive.

Further Comments:

There's a minor error in the tutorial: The Game Over condition is Rebutia dying **not the player**, par the theme.

Dash was very satisfying, although diagonals were a bit awkward.

Healing was awkward but the **ping** sound was nice, it might be asking for too much but if the healer, player and Rebutia had different sounds (ex. a chant, the usual ping and a happy bark) it could've made it an eency bit better.

Enemy detection is awkward, but dash+clicking seems to be an effective method; whether intentional or not, made for a funner game!

A game which allows for variety! You can play defensively by hiding behind Reburia and the healer or charge ahead to clear a path.

All in all really solid game,

Really Nice Work!

Enjoyed the art style a lot - simple pixel art but in a stylish way. Controls feel smooth, though the hit detection felt a bit too unforgiving.

The difficultly also does seem to suddenly ramp up after a couple of waves so I kept losing at the same point.

As with all jam games, due to the time limit it's a bit lacking in mechanics so grows old quickly - more enemy types would help increase retention time, or perhaps some way to level your character or unlock abilities.

@43sam Apologies, I went back to play again as I like this game loads and I realised that you can attack in all the directions! My bad! Great game!

Loved the look and feel for this game. The music really added to the ambiance. I couldn't get the tutorial to exit the first time around, had to restart the game to play.

Solid entry. Music and graphics were fairly simple, but clean and nice to look at. The animations were nice, but there was more latency on the player attack than I would have liked, and it was sometimes tricky to fire it before I learned the exact timing.

I never really learned what the advantage of sliding was, other than just traveling faster, but it was really fun to do!

Overall, great work for 48 hours.

Really like the music, and most of all, the running back to get an occasional heal. Really cool. I also liked the angles that you could aim the spear, just that one more animation angle really was a nice touch. Good job keeping Rebutia alive!

Good game!

I liked a lot the animation of sliding and the sounds that came with it - and good to be very precise on the scoring :)!

The combat is very responsive. It feels so good to attack with my spear, and targeting enemies is very smooth.

The atmosphere is also good, nice graphics, sound and music...

I think one thing it lacks is a goal. After a while I never really enjoy games without an ending. Maybe a progression system would have done it as well. Getting stronger is always a good goal

Very solid entry, good job mate!

Wow it looks beautiful, very nice simple pixel art, and the animations and sound effects make it feel really satisfying, it's a very well put together little game, with good pace. I really enjoyed it, I did get stuck on the tutorial menu and after losing though, it would be nice to have a button to restart. ( Sorry if there is and I missed it)

Nice game!

Love the art style. The music is nice, and I like the idea of the game. Arrow keys didn't work for me (?) so I had to settle with WASD with an azerty keyboard ^^
Died between 300 and 400, is there other enemies down the line?

Anyway, really liked it. Congrats!

Feels so good! The scale reminds me of Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm! Played on web- downloading now. After playing the dl- it is, as you said, smoother, even tighter gameplay, and the ability to turn was not working for me on web- it made me question why you had the crosshair- now i know. Really love the mood of this. Thanks for the game! I didn't get very far, but I will keep trying!
