Goblin Adventure by DrSkort

[raw]
made by DrSkort for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You'd never believe what kind of adventures goblins have! This game is about a goblin who goes on exciting quests and while he does so, it's your job to babysit his son (who is imagining adventures himself).

As you can see it's a game full of adventures, but it's not easy to babysit a goblin!

Find out for yourself :)

Controls:

It's actually pretty basic and the game explains it to you anyway. Just use your mouse to click.

Development:

This game is actually a solo-project. But my amazing girlfriend came up with the main concept and also wrote the dialogue. Big Thanks to her <3

I used Unity as a GameEngine, Aseprite to make good ol' pixel art and Ableton to make music and sounds.

none :) but please tell me if there are any D:

Nice game, The idea of adding more time after every wave felt a bit off. maybe every wave should be the in game 15 minutes or in game 10 minutes would be even better

Fun little management game. One improvement could be audio feedback on elements to inform the player, instead of it manily being visual feedback. It would give the option of introducing more elements or faster pacing.

I really enjoyed playing this for a while, just to see what the next items on the 'do-this-next' list would be ;) The progression was a little slow for me, but the 'huh?' sound made by the goblin son was worth it! Great background music too. Simple mechanic, but it feels polished to me! Thank you :D!

lovely art style and music, i liked this so much! you did a good job adding features one by one so the game itself works as a tutorial, but perhaps the pacing of the whole thing could be sped up a bit more in my opinion. it wasn't a problem though, very enjoyable!

Great idea for the theme and man that pixel art is so clean and well done. I love the incrementally more 'complex' gameplay, well done all around!

Really liking the art style and music. The goblin expressions also help to signal the player to get ready on clicking on him. The levels are a bit long, but I enjoy most of it.

Kinda like a cute non scary fantasy version of 5 Knights at Freddies. Like the graphics and theme. Only real criticism is that I found that the days were too long. Maybe an option to play at double speed?

Nice work! Love that your girlfriend got involved with this too! Goblin sounds are perfect. Maybe some variations of the sounds could be cool, or sound when you click on things. Great stuff.

@timo-strating Thanks for the feedback ^^ I think, the increasing time was actually a good idea, but the gameplay should have been a little bit more interesting, since I wanted to make sure everyone has enough time to learn the mechanics before getting to the harder levels.

@amerigo-gazaway Thank you so much D: I am so happy I could inspire you :) Your music is so good ^^ I was really impressed when I played your game. It's so cool, that you want to learn all that. It is always helpful to learn all kinds of skills. I started with programming actually and then learned composing and pixelart. Thank you for your comment ^^ I wish you good luck
