Cosmic Felk is Dead! Long Live Cosmic Felk! by Qazikol
The year is 3062. From your job at a hip record store in Ataraxia, you are working to inspire today's youth into creating the 2nd wave of cosmic felk, a much maligned music genre. But no-one likes it for a reason.
A short visual novel made for my 2nd LD. Please do give even the harshest of feedback!

Characters looked good, the dialogue options were fun.
Music was nice and ambient.
Some of the text was a little hard to read with the colours, a stroke or darker background would help with that.
Good work.
I had a good vibes from the game. If I would not playing ludum dare games together with my all knowing partner I would for sure finish this since it is a first time I played something like that. I am not sure if my choices had some impact. Was it just story telling or there are some alternative endings? :)
Anyway, if it would be long game I would not be able to read the text since it was a bit hard to read it.
Thank you for sharing!
Other than that though, I really liked the story, it really made me smile at the end.
I think the slow camera movement takes away from the graphics, though I understand the desire for a little extra detail. I'm sure you have plenty of ideas for how to show the 3D-ness of the scene without the shaky camera
Great use of Cradle/Twine, nice work~
Yeahh, that's fair. The camera movement helped me feel like I'd achieved a bit more than a flat render early on, but I never ended up doing the animation, lighting and post work to replace it, so in it stayed :')
definitely appreciate the intention behind it, and when in the right kind of mood I feel I could really get into it. The graphics are great, mood is great, audio is great and I love the artistic direction you took with this entry so great job!
This was a nice story driven experience with a dinstinctive mood. Good job!
PS : I do prefer the last album of The Hunk Bunch's than Hunkbert's new solo project... But that's just me.
The interpretation of the theme is really great. Nice job here!
EDIT: Just realized I left the game running so I could keep listening to the music while writing this. That's how you know you did good. :P
@jonathan-lorenz Unfortunately we'll just have to make do with our earthly gabber for the time-being :c And tbh I agree about Hunkbert; his work's gotten a bit self-indulgent of late.
@chocolat-endive Thanks! Would definitely like to flesh out the dialogue tree and add more options throughout, yeahh. Also, ideally, actually make some cosmic felk :')
@43sam Really glad you liked it! Ahah, a disproportionate amount of time was spent on the genre names; I'm glad that sleepily mumbling space words to myself paid off in some way :')
@kimkillaqueen Thank you!! I think this is my first time writing dialogue since I was like 13, and I basically never write anyway because it's ~terrifying~, so that really means a lot!
@junebug Ahah, that's quite an accolade! I finally(!) got a MIDI keyboard like 2 days before LD, and in my excitement spent far too long in the smooth jazz space on the first night, grooving into the early hours at the expense of everything else :L
@daria-toni I can't believe you're the first person to mention the floor bug! I thought that would turn loads of people off, ahah. Thank you for your kind words!
