Details

You are Barky! 🐾 You are given the task to keep the party alive.
Fortunately you have a magical bark!

Goal

goal.png

Keep the party going until the timer runs out.
If 3 people leave the apartment, the party is considered a failure!

Why would they leave?

losing.png

Your guests can get easily annoyed: - If the fridge is empty when they go for a beer - If the bathroom is occupied when they need it the most - If the music stops and they wander around being bored

⟶ Don't let them be annoyed for too long or they will head home!

How do I prevent this?

barking.png

Use your magical bark to: 1. Refill an empty fridge 2. Restart a sleeping jukebox 3. Make people hurry up in the bathroom 4. Send bored guests back to their room

Now let's get this Barky started!

Hahah I love this game!! The concept is brilliant, I loved the little touches like the rooms changing music as you entered them. I really enjoyed chasing after people and barking at them, probably more than i should have.

I loved that each room had different types of party guests and associated music. Great job!

I felt like i was just running from room to room listening to different music, although the transition in audio was awesome and seamless!

Loved the game! Round 3 is very unforgiving haha so many people to keep track of :) No complaints about it from a game dev perspective though :)

Really enjoyed this, would have been nice to pre-emptively bark the jukeboxes after checking a room. Nice variety of sprites and audio tracks for each area. Loved the power of the dog and how he could punt the partiers across the room. Overall well crafted and fun to play!

Great concept! Super original. I had fun playing it! My one note is that I would like to be able to bark at someone by being close to them rather than facing them directly. It made it pretty challenging to "land" a bark on my target.

Pretty nice. Just some feedback, the bark is a bit too lout, and the song is too short, keeps looping every 20 seconds.

Absolutely loved the concept for this and wasn't disappointed. There as a bit of a The Sims vibe with all the little thought bubbles floating around and running about yipping in people's faces to wake them up themselves was fun. The variation of music was cool too. Great work!

The different music in each room was a neat touch. Good distribution of tasks, there's a lot to keep track of but it's not overwhelming. Well done!

10/10 title and cover art!

Great twist on the Keep the Party Going theme that's popping everywhere. Even if it's mechanically similar, the dog alone makes it stand out haha. The UI is nice, simple, and understandable. We actually use a bit of the same idea in our food truck game. The game really shines when it gets super hectic of course, and you're just running around doing driveby barks. Fun game overall!

What made you guys go with a 2D game this time? Usually you have 3D looking art.

@peachtreeoath Thanks for the kind words! We just wanted to try something a bit different with 2D art this time and also our team composition was slightly different. We'll probably go back to 3D though for future jams :D

Loved the idea, it was really fun to bark at people who didnt ask anything. The musics that changes on each different room was also a nice detail, keep going !

Originally wanted to do "keep the party alive" but had no idea how to go about it. I makes me happy to see someone pull it off! I really enjoyed the game and thought the different types of music in each room was a real nice touch! Unfortunately the game seemed quite short and would have greatly benefited by having more levels. Regardless, I had a blast playing, great work!

I love Barky. Really liked how the music transisioned from room to room. I like how the moodlets let you know when to bark at people haha. I diddn't find it obvious what the toilet was, but thats a minor complaint as the moodlets more than made up for it.

I love the dog sprite, its idle animation is adorable. I want a party hosting dog. The music blends surprisingly well, dynamic music is tough.

Simple and funny game. I enjoyed playing it. But in my opinion design of characters and environment doesn't fit each other.

A good kind of ridiculous! I liked the music changing between rooms, but I just wanted to stay in the metal one ;).
It is a very pleasant jam game!

Cute, well balanced, and fun. Great work.

I only got through level 2 — is there more than one level layout?

Lmao if I was at this shindig, the dog would lose because I would be attached to him all night- a good boy! What a strange little game you've got goin' on here lol. I like the different rooms and the humor really shines in this game more than anything.Nice work!

What a good party dog! Funny idea, it was great running after folks and barking at them. I thought it was a bit on the easy side, but that felt ok given how silly the game is!

That was fun :) Didn't really know what to expect, but you did a great job explaining the game to the player. The mechanics were simple but effective. Also, the length of the game was perfect. Didn't overstay it's welcome. The art was a bit all over the place, but that's alright. The whole concept in of itself was pretty absurd but fun. I like when game concepts don't take themselves too seriously. There wasn't much challenge though, could beat it in the first try without any real problems. The dog was fast enough to basically keep everyone happy without much waiting time.

Still, great little micro management game :) Bark!
