:D
Nice game. The music and art were pretty good, and worked well together. The repetition was a cool idea, but I didn't manage to fully figure it out in the end. I bought the dress so Hope's dad would fix the thing, but I didn't really know what to do with it, I just went there instead of the park on the final day and made it ping a few times, but in the end she got eaten anyway. :(
The controls could use some tweaking IMO. Holding down a direction to keep moving would help a lot, and also adding key binds for the few things you need your mouse for, so you can just play one handed. Minor issue though.
@wheybags I would have wanted to add the keybinds, but didn't have time. Not sure if that would count a 'port' though.
I added a walkthrough PDF to the Itch's Downloads section if you want to just experience the story without getting bogged by the puzzles.
I thought of going with a purple/orange range for my game initially too, but couldn’t get it to work - I really like yours!
Also: Really good soundtrack, it fits nicely to me!
And as @wheybags mentions, I would have loved to have an option to use buttons only as well. Maybe you can still do the "port"? (I have no idea what the rules say, though)
Yeah, might be that the keys would be ok to add, it's more of an accessibility feature anyway. I was also considering full old school Ultima style controls with keys to open doors etc, but didn't have time for that either (and it might have been a bit tedious).
nice art and colors too!
I like the loops and the attention to detail and consequences of the choices made.
Critique-wise, the repetition does get a bit annoying. I think allowing the player to hold down directional keys to move would alleviate this a lot.
Story spoilers ahead, read at your own risk!
So I'm not sure whether I quite got all the references - was Titania the demon, and was she intending to loop me until I meet my true soulmate Mem? I don't remember the exact text, but drops vague hints that make me think I either missed some parts of the dialogue, or there is an external reference I don't follow :)
I unfortunately didn't have time to complete the whole game in one sitting, but I hope to come back to this one again soon!
The repetition could be managed a little bit better I feel. Allowing to hold for movement would help.
Good job!
The story was ok with also a cool twist that got me interested in it again just before I was about to be bored. Towards the end it becomes a bit confusing though, it was like I was playing another game all of a sudden.
I don't think I've much more to say about it, it's okay the way it is (apart from little improvements), good work!
Oh and I found a bug: if you ring the bell in the church like on friday, when you go into the church on the monster day he will be already there! Nothing bad happens, it just hits u and teleport you on the stairs of the church.
