Intro

Hey everyone! Quick intro about me - This is my first published game ever and I am a beginner when it comes to game development. Hope you enjoy this little game!

About the game

TreaTrees is a game where you have to do some planting and watering in order to control the rising pollution levels in the atmosphere. You simply walk around in your field in order to water the plants to keep them alive. TreaTrees<em>2020-04-21</em>11-45-31.png Remember, more the pollution, faster the plants rot. Your goal? Try to stay alive as long as possible!

Controls - WASD/Arrow Keys to move and G to interact, Esc to quit game at any time.

Known Bugs - Player gets stuck after clicking Play Again button, please restart the game instead (ran out of time to fix).

I liked this game. It was fun and relaxing. My only problem was that I didn't understand the condition required to win - was there a timer?

I got to 2500 - this was a pretty cool game! I love the graphics, and the sound is fitting. Overall a pretty solid vibe. Only noticed some UI stuff, like the Quit button not working after a game is finished. I replayed this one a couple times - really really awesome for your first go. You should be proud! :v:

Art and music fit really well. You might want to include 'g to interact' in the game because tried playing without reading the desc and was a bit confused. Would be cool to see different types of plants that have different health and give different oxygen amount.

I really like this, it was a nice little game with some fun mechanics. There was an issue with the game locking up the first time it launched but i was never able to repeat it, so could have been a fluke.

Keep up the great work, see ya next time!

Thank you all for feedback, I really didn't expect to receive any! Yes I'm afraid the game is not polished and bugs are there. I uploaded this on the last minute so had no time to fix!

@isaiah yes, planned to add it but ran out of time, sorry :(

@samelgamedev the goal is just to survive as much as you can! Sadly, you can't win, just score higher and higher. I wanted to indicate the level of pollution merely by showing factories being set up in the distant, I should've added a UI.

Good game it will be more hard if i can't stack my plants and water them all with one swing overall i enjoy it and is relaxing but keep me engaged. Nice one!

This game has a great atmosphere. I would recommend including an indication of the controls within the game itself, especially if it is 1) Fullscreen by default and 2) Uses an obscure key like 'G'

@nanolotl you are right! Do you think it is allowed to make an update v1.1 version for this jam? Coz there's a few bugs that I know how to fix and improve but I'm not doing it since it wasn't done in 72 hours. Thanks for playing! <3

@rhinofreak It's quite common for people to release fixed versions afterwards, just clearly mark the download as being a 'post-jam' version and you'll be good to go.

Nice first game, the music is really relaxing, in regard of what happens on the screen to the planet.

You can't win, that's it : / ?

Little High Score bug: it appears to be always -1 than the Final Score.

Controls: maybe add the arrow key + Space, that can be intuitive too.

Rules: I found it's way more effectient to put all the plants at the very same place, to water them easilly. But it's not realistic ^^: maybe add rules to take into account the distance to the other plants.

The theme of environmental protection is very good. The industrial civilization against humanity requires players to maintain it carefully. There is a very special experience during the game.

I really liked this. I love the subtle animations and how the environment changes over time.

The music fits the mood really well, too.

Congratulations on finishing your first game. I enjoyed playing through it. I feel like it's endless game with no win condition. Art is cool and so is music. The game gets challenging after a few plants (that is you plant them at different locations, later I found out you can plant them in one place). As @qfrct suggested adding some rules improve the experience. Overall good effort for your first game.

Very cool game! Cute graphics and fun gameplay :) Although I am a bit intrigued by the man with the weirdly shaped green penis constantly ejaculating :sweat_drops:
