Die with the spikes by JaviCoder

[raw]
made by JaviCoder for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

Walk through the temple, until you reach the end. Every stone slab could be a trap.

Live, Die, MEMORIZE, and Repeat.

I've run out of time for different traps, rooms etc :(

Made the whole scene, inside Unity using probuilder, and done the textures with photopea.com. Toke me a long time to bake nice lights and shadows... Music made with Garageband.

Love the graphics and audio. The gameplay is kind of boring and repetitive(i mean, you are stuck in a loop)

You can die at the last trap, but still make it through. It shows you winning, and losing.

The graphics and music helps set a mood!
There isn't much point in restarting once you finish the course once.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed the fact that respawning is fast enough to avoid too much frustration.

The graphics and atmosphere of the game were great! The movement of the camera was also a good detail. The gameplay was boring (you really can't take any decision, is just random clicking) but I understand that it was because the lack of time. With more traps and a more polished gameplay, this has potential to be something like a puzzle game where you have to reach the end of the level.

The gameplay is not very imaginative to be honest but the mood thanks to the graphics and audio is brilliant. Well done.

The atmosphere and cinematic feel of this is great. Love the sand piled up in the corners. The safe tiles not actually forming a path feels strange though, and it forces you to just randomly click and memorize the path.

@javicoder you did well by sticking the poor guy in a loop :) good job for 48h :)

It does feel slightly like I'm just bruteforcing a code of numbers 1-5, but the visuals and sounds are quite good. Appreciate the delay between dying and trying again being short.

I think the camera proved my undoing on a lot of the rounds. On my first round, for example, my penultimate square was on the far right, but the only squares I could actually see to move to were spiked.

Atmosphere was really good though.

A like how the main character is made of glass, together with audio effects it makes an interesting mix. Also the mood, as being mentioned before, is great.

The name doesn't lie, I was able to guess the last 3 numbers in one go so didn't end up being too long stuck in the loop. great job with the visuals

The camera doesn't let to see some tiles, at least happened to me; and that makes me impossible to select a 1/5 option on the edges. Good game overall!

I really liked getting killed by the spikes. When the mistakes you make in the game are a source of fun, it really keeps losing enjoyable. Fun entry!

Very nicely done within 48 hours. One suggestion would be to speed the camera pan slightly - when the next block is a significant distance away, I found myself having to wait for it to enter the camera's visibility. The music is really nice - appropriate to the mood without being invasive. I had fun playing it :)

The audio is great and the idea is quirky. The camera pan at the start was a bit too slow for my liking after dying so often. Speeding that up would've made for a more pleasent experience in my opinion.

Positives
- Loved the main menu vibe
- Usage of the cinemachine during the intro was spot on. I so need to learn how to do that. So cool
- Volume lighting (fake), fog effect/particles added to the vibe, nicely done
- Background music was great

Improvements
- The graphics disappeared a lot and then repainted for some reason
- More smaller levels but with progressive difficulty
- Remove the FPS ;)

Thank you for voting for me game so I seeked yours. Well done on your first entry for LD! So looking forward to more of your work

Pretty nice entry. Punishing haha! I wish the camera would swing a bit faster or respond faster to my mouse movement .

The graphics & audio are great. I really like how you controlled the camera as well. Think the gameplay around trail & error part needs a bit more work but other than that great game :)

The spikes startled me the first time I died : D There wasn't much to the game itself but the audio and graphics were nice. The camera pan in the intro was a neat touch, but the one after dying felt pretty wonky. Having the camera just jump back to the starting position would probably have worked better. Nice work overall!

The colors and light are really beautiful. Even the character, only made with cubes, is nice because of the transparence and color contrast. I like the mood of this game and the music fit very well. I was just a bit disappointed by the gameplay. It's just a matter of chance. Only die and retry. And the movements ar very rough. I don't feel well the theme. But for the atmosphere, congratulation!
