I would have like a few hints here and there on what the dog need or wanted to do to help them.
And some sounds or music would have given it another dimension to add to the mood of the game and help the player better enjoy the experience.
Over all good Job, nicely done.
I agree that there needs to be more balancing, activities, and feedback from the dog but there just wasn't time to get to everything. I only found out about Ludum Dare on Saturday, so I was already at a disadvantage, and I just had to publish in a "good enough" state on Monday.
I also definitely need to add sound to my repertoire. I have no real experience working with it and my goal for this jam was just to get something done so I shied away from it.
I'm most likely going to tinker with it post-Ludum Dare and hopefully build something a little more polished and feature-rich. Possibly, which fancy things like animation and sounds! Maybe even music -- should I dare to dream!
I wish there was a little more visual feedback when a bar is running low, and also when your dog dies.
Still, a cool concept with a lot of variety and charm.
One thing I'd like to see though, is that as an accessibility thing (since it was somewhat of a problem for me) the time should maybe not run while you're not doing anything, so that you can read the lines at your own pace, honestly it kept my dog dying a few times since I'm such a slow reader, but I think for most people that's quite a minor thing.
I did enjoy playing it, even though it was a bit difficult trying to keep the dog alive, since it was not very straight forward as to what things improved what and what things didn't. Overall quite good, excellent job!
