PLOTOKOSTE-DUSHEPLOT by Nexonium

[raw]
made by Nexonium for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You take control of Nikita, creature that bounded to the Heart. Heart is beating. It consumes you. And corpses of other creatures. You need to feed the heart to survive in this harsh unforgiving world.

~~~~ Controls: WASD - to move E - to pick corpse R - to drop corpse 1, 2, 3, 4 - use item in inventory slot Shift + 1, 2, 3, 4 - drop item from inventory slot Alt + 1, 2, 3, 4 - use item in inventory to combine with nearby item surroundings
Usable items: Flesh - increases the rope length Bone - use on "stuck corpses" to remove wines Soul - throw to snatch corpses at distance (throw to a mouse position) Fleshbone (craftable only) - replenishes heart's health Soulflesh (craftable only) - increases speed of the character Soulfleshbone (craftable only) - adds 1 inventory slot (up to 4)
~~~~ - Blood puddles are there for a reason! - You don't want to drag a body over a cracked tile, trust me. - The carnivore plants just want to get some hugs from you.

~~Nikita is NOT a shallow creature~~

Interesting gameplay idea about combining various environment elements. Although I didn't really understand if I could combine these parts into more bodies, so when I fed all the nearby corpses to the heart it was over. Graphics really bring out the creepy atmosphere!

Really nice graphics, I didn't really figure out what the crafting brings though.. maybe a few more hints? But solid game!

The premise and the art feels very macabre, dragging corpses around!
One thing to improve: I did use / drop the item that I picked up, but it’s little unclear a what they did?

This is a pretty interesting game.
Overall, it was fairly confusing, but I had fun experimenting with the different "crafting" elements -- although it took me a while to figure out how it worked.

I figured out the fleshbone and soulflesh combos. I was hoping for a third combo, but couldn't figure one out. Also, from what I could tell, soulflesh didn't do anything.

I also don't understand what gave me further range from the heart as time went on.

Really interesting gameplay!

Really nice graphics! To be honest, I didn't completely understand how to craft items, and why sometimes I could grab corpses and sometimes not. But still a very nice entry.

Really nice game. Like the graphics, especially the creature we're controlling... :smirk: .. But I couldn't figure out what to do ( combined the stuff and ? ) . Some more explanation may be helpful. Also music and soundFX... Overall a solid and fun to play game...

The game was very interesting, I had a bit of trouble figuring out the mechanics of the consumables (I think vague descriptions could help out a bit), but found it out after some time... it would be good if there was a way to show what was craftable or not, since most of my time was spent being confused about that. Graphics were cute however the lack of sound was rather jarring, still a very interesting game.

Though the art is really cool, I didn't really get what to do with all those things. Maybe you could think over those mechanics again and make them more clear and useful. I really loved the graphics. Good job!

Cool game! The graphics and feeling were really cool, it has a very good style to it! The beating heart is a good centrepiece :)

The game mechanics were interesting but a little confusing -- at the start there's a lot I could do and it was a bit overwhelming, so if it were a bit more narrow to start off with to act as more of a training section that would've made it a bit smoother.

The atmosphere was really cool -- a bit of basic music / sfx would really help to bring it all together.

My name is Nikita (really), and, yes, I'm not a shallow creature xD I did not quite understand
how inventory works (mb I'm dummy) Anyway, nice work!!!

It's cool that you added different different combinations of items and various item attributes but there is a lack of opposing forces, adding some enemies, probably even invincible would add more dynamics to the game. But still good job, I liked the art style

Really cool game, I love games with themes with necromancy in it so this was an immediate like from me.
The graphics are superb, the items which you can use are clever and really help you explore the level.
The game mechanics where fun but a bit confusing so something which could help is making a short tutorial to ease people into it but considering the time the game is already impressive enough.

Great entry!
