Death Trap II: Revenge of the Walls by schmavery

[raw]
made by schmavery for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

We made a puzzle game where you have to save the life of the main character as they bumble helplessly around a dangerous dungeon. Pits and walls are especially deadly.

Instructions: Use the mouse to drag and drop objects onto the map. You can click the buttons in the bottom left to restart, undo, or play through the level.

Loved it! That was some really great puzzle designs! I was stuck on Zig Zag for the longest time. Thank god for the relaxing music. Now I'm really sad there isn't a Death Trap 1 lol.

Great job everyone!!

Delightful little puzzle game, although I swear I clicked on your message "Press play to continue" rather than the play button every single ruddy time. ^_^

Cool idea, it felt very polished! I might be dumb but I don't think I understood how the new paths were determined when you changed a path. It would be nice to be able to move around boulders without having to reset the most recently placed one.

Good game, ran well. I was a little confused as to how the lines were determined and why they just ended in the middle of the map.

Very clever concept! Fun game that requires me to think a bit. It would be great if you could move rocks that you've already placed, but that's minor and doesn't effect my overall impression of the game. Overall very good game!

Fun and hard puzzle game, it was fun, really good job with the puzzles. I would like to be able to move the rocks in the game scene, or a re-do button, when I made a little mistake had to put ALL the rocks all over again and that was kind of annoying, Great game , the art is cute and simple and the music is so calm, great job.

Wow you made a really long game for a jam, and it kept me going till the end. Great job! Art is clean, music gives it a cool mood to it. Also they have buttholes.

Without a doubt some of the best puzzle design I've seen this jam. Really great job on leading the player through your mechanics. In "fun with a friend" there seem to be some strange interactions that occur when the two characters enter the same square or get sufficiently close (at least strange interactions visibly). I'd recommend adding a simple animation for when this occurs to make it clearer what happened.

Awesome puzzle game, very innovative. I really enjoyed it! And there's a lot of content too. The only thing that bothers me is that once I put a boulder I can't relocate it so I have to press the restart button. It's a UX issue when many boulders have been placed already but then you have one that needs to be relocated.

Thanks to everyone who played! We really appreciate it.

@marbles too bad you didn't find the undo button between the restart and play buttons! It seems like lots of people got tripped up by not being able to move the boulders after placing them so we probably should have found some time to do that before submitting. Classic too many bugs and not enough time :P

I really didn't expect such a clever twist on pushing-things-puzzle games. Your game really is amazing and got far harder far faster than I expected as well (unfortunately I just couldn't figure out "Finale"...). The levels also seem really well designed for a jam game. I would have liked to increase the walk speed even more but that is really the only complaint I have. Great job!

One of the best games I've played! I loved the puzzle, it's well designed and I had a lot of fun resolving it. The audio was also nice and matched the game very well. Very innovative. Well done!!
