You are a best-selling author, confident in your writing abilities and mastery. So confident, in fact, you state that you are the best writer in the word, better, in fact, than the devil. You are challenged to a writing contest by the devil. Bound by time with your soul on the line, you must keep your story, and yourself, alive.

In Wordbound, Your goal is to KEEP THE STORY ALIVE. Each sentence you write must have increasingly more difficult and absurd words included, OR ELSE. Once you are done writing, you can even save whatever story you have written as a text file, in order to edit it, read it later, or share it! We would love to see what people make with Wordbound! Tutorial included, so don't worry. Includes highly rich handmade pixel art for the words that you should make crucial to the story.

Interesting idea, and well executed! The time is a little too fast for me, so I had to keep most sentences to 3 words to stay alive. I would suggest making an easy mode for those of us who type slowly. Great game though!

Interesting idea. But I think the time limit is a little too tight to write anything coherent.

Maybe give more time and instead forbid repetition?

Adding spellcheck/auto-correct would have been nice features.

That was wicked fun! Here is the story I wrote: https://pastebin.com/v3kNNZ9a

The word I lost on was "ability" :(

Really interesting concept. I wish there would be a little bit more time for each word. I wanted to write longer sentences haha. I think it would fit if the demon could say each new word so we can just focus on writing and thinking.

Awesome game. It took me a little while to get into the swing of typing that quickly. It would be nice with some tortured screams in the background or maybe a cackling demon.

Very creative idea. It really worked my brain muscles attempting to create sentences using words. (I'm not too good at that haha).

I do like the idea, but I wish it had a little more structure! That and a longer word list... I understand the desire to have art accompanying the words, but in a typing game I think that's a pretty lofty goal. I had fun typing my story, and forcing myself to make it make sense.

Nice concept, but there are too little time to write anything that makes sense.

After all these years my typeracer skills finally came to use! Love the artstyle! You should adjust the timer with the length of the game (the longer it takes, the faster the timer runs out). As i can type fairly quickly i could not really die and had to stop after a couple of minutes. Otherwise fun little game! And i love that i can add my own words to it if i like!

Ya this isn't my type of game, so i'm not hugely into playing it too long. However your art was amazing, and i'm pretty sure if i played it longer it would be amazing.
If there's one thing i wan't to critique. If you choose to go further with this, you should implement a spell checker so the game can tell if your actually writing words or not, but also something so that speed writing doesn't penalize misspellings.

@joamd Sorry, the game was optimized for 1920x1080 resolution, we didn't have time to scale it differently

Oh no! I wanted to play this so much (it looks right up my alley!) and there's no mac build. Could you please make a mac/html5 build? :D :D :D

That was unexpectedly fun. I am not a writer, but still was fun. My third story was going well until I miss typed the key word and ended it. I wish the time pressure ramped up just a bit slower so I could get a little bit of a longer story out. Also, some sounds would be great. I think it would help a lot with the atmosphere. I light typewriter clacking, some easy music. Also, maybe something to make sure you don't get the same word super close to itself would be good. Super cool idea though.
