Save the Dragon by Physi3

[raw]
made by Physi3 for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

My Ludum Dare submition.

For the Enemies, Protaganist and Cave background, free assets were used. Everything else is designed by me.

It starts off easy but you'll soon be regretting you ever started. I've never even made it past wave 6!

Navigate menus with the mouse. WASD or Arrow Keys to move. Space Bar to shoot. T to build.

The Graphics are cute. A possibility to recover health would be nice. It would make the game fairer

Awesome game! well done, I didn't grade graphics as I have seen them somewhere else. The shooting can be a little awkward when moving at the same time I walked into enemies a couple times but yeah, overall: Awesome!

Loved playing this game. Adding a way to replenish health and some sound effects can make this game prefect!

Nice game! very classic and fun. I like that we have to balance feeding the dragon and defending it

Art looks nice, but it seems to be taken from free assets. Nonetheless it is used nicely. The wave's seem to\ be fair, but the dragon's food bar depletes quickly. Theme is cute and hits the mark with "keep it alive". Good job! No bugs to be found.

needs a health recover option, but the graphics are awesome and the controls are smooth

I love it. Awesome take on keep it alive :) controls are klunky. you cant shoot diagonally, but the baddies can walk diagonaly. and the fov is super small, makes it very hard.

Great entry! Graphics are polished and gameplay is solid. Controls need a slight adjustment, and SFX would be great, but forgivable for LDJam! Well done.

I'll just repeat what others said, diagonal shooting, and some sort of hunger regen would put it over the top. But well done! Nice game!

There's a lot here, with an intro cutscene and a shop! I appreciate the Skip Cutscene option. Since I had to use the mouse to navigate UIs, I think it would have been more intuitive to use it for shooting and aiming as well. Don't forget to opt out of the Graphics category if you did not create the graphics yourself.

Really nice little game! I think to improve you could add some sound effects and diagonal shooting, as mentioned before by others. But all in all the game runs really smoothly and looks nice!

Charming game! I enjoyed mowing down moles and feeding them to my baby dragon.

If you end up doing more on this, I would consider making the whole game playable with keyboard/gamepad... using the mouse for menus became a bit distracting.

Really smooth! Love the pixel art. Could definitely have done with some music and sounds though (not that i'm one to talk, I forgot them for my entry).

The pixel art is awesome! Very smooth just not a fan of having to use the mouse to feed the dragon or buy stuff. I still enjoyed it and reached wave 6.
