Kaiju Kountdown by Johnsensei
Note on Graphics and Audio rating: The character (monster, police cars) and building art is original. The rest comes with RPG Maker MV. The music is original but the sound effects come with the engine.
A nuclear accident has created a giant monster and ripped a hole in spacetime. Time is now on a never-ending loop of the same 24-hour period with the giant monster destroying the city. When the loop resets, the city resets and the monster starts the whole process again. But the city’s residents remember what happened each loop, so they start to get smarter in fighting the monster. Players control the monster as they try to destroy as much of the city within the 24-hour period. After each loop, the number of enemies increases. The game ends when the player is destroyed by the enemies. The object of the game is to see how many loops the player can successfully destroy the city and survive.

The monster sprite is also cute, though it seems his collision doesn't match with his size well, and crushing cars is a bit fiddly.
I ended up soft locked when I finished a level with 1hp, not sure if I just "ran out" of levels, or if there's a legitimate bug there.
Fun little game though. If you want to expand upon this, it probably needs a bit more variety in things to attack and threats, but overall I had fun playing it.
Nice work!
Every time a building is destroyed, a time variable increases by 1. There are 24 buildings, so when all are destroyed the time variable should be 24 (for 24-hours in a day). There is a parallel event (checking every frame) what the time variable is to control the screen tinting for the day-night system. The moment time>=24 then the loop change sequence begins. So either the time variable is not getting to 24 when all buildings are destroyed for some reason, or something is getting hung up in the loop change.
This is a really fun game! I love being the monster destroying a city. You made some very good decisions, like letting the player destroy the squad cars by walking on them (that's so much fun!) and having them shoot at regular intervals so you can dodge the bullets. I would've liked to see a counter for which round I was on, but I see now after dying on my last playthrough that you do keep track of buildings and cars destroyed (I got 142 buildings and 92 cars).
Even with the bugs, this feels like a very complete jam game. It's fun, and it has good graphics and audio. I especially liked the day/night cycle. Great job!
· The narrative lines among loops made it more interesting.
· I had a good time until it started looping, I would have wished for an ending!
· If I was to fix something it would be the collisions, once you knew it was extremely easy to cheese.
Nice entry :·3
