Magmania by CameronPenner
Your geothermal drill site is spinning out of control! Get things back in order before the magma gets you!
The map is a ring that spins on a tilt so is always at least partly submerged in the magma. Work the pumps to get resources which you used to caft and place down objects to help stem the rising of the magma! All the while, ensure your Command Consoles are kept in check and aren't left unattended, or you risk a sharp and deadly rise of magma. Beware also of where and how you place your machines, however, as they turn the ring into a labyrinth of your own making.
Your ultimate goal is to craft and place down the Stabilisation Gyroscope to save yourself.
Controls:
Move - Arrow Keys Interact - Space
Below is a little infographic explaining what you can craft:

Audio was great, really added to the tension (though the loop got old quite quickly), but was complimented really well by the rising sounds of the bars filling up. nice job setting the mood!
Crafting was straight forward, if unclear at first as to what resources were and why they were needed for each thing. I really liked the overall feel of scrambling between resource nodes to get to the selector and then the printer to set something going for the next time it came around.
Some clear instructions and visual juice could really make this game shine! A coop mode on a larger level would very likely be fun!
I think that the game is very enjoyable!
The gameplay flow is very good. The idea is very innovative. The graphic looks good. I think that the music is good, but it could be more varied.
One more thing about the gameplay is that I think you should add easy mode to the game, or either adds a tutorial to the game.
So far the game is very good and I like it!
@gamedevmatt we love the idea of co-op mode! it's a post jam stretch goal that we're really interested in exploring!
@ovid I wish I had a better setup for creating music at home, unfortunately all of my equipment is really painful to use, so I could only get in that single loop done in time. Sometime to improve for next time for sure!
@shelvid <3 that little guy is the first 3d model that I've rigged and animated myself all in blender. I'm really pleased how well he turned out, I have a fascination for run cycles and I'm glad I could deliver something new and fun in such a short amount of time!
@gamedevmatt As Cameron said, we're definitely looking at adding co-op, as well! Thank you for the feedback! I was quite happy despite the limited time with the sound design, basic as iti s.
@ovid A missing tutorial is definitely the classic problem! We'll certainly add one for the post-jam version. Thanks for playing!
@shelvid Well done on beating it! The lil dude is adorable. I'm glad you had fun and that you understood it fairly quickly! With no tutorial in-game it was definitely what we were hoping. :)
Look forward to seeing what you make it the future :D

oh god just saw that the website bugged and posted this 3 times
I don't know how to delete comments :joy: sorry
Only suggestion I have is making the building/printing more clear. The other things are pretty simple: Repair something, collect something. But at the start I had no idea what I was doing with the building.
I hope my Lil dude survived after that!
If your going to add something to the game in the future, a co-op mode would be amazing, I could see this being really fun to try to survive as long as possible together.
Going to try to beat it on hard now!
The idea is really good, the execution is awesome.
On my first try I lost but understood the correct strat, and on the second try even if I knew exactly what to do each loop the execution was frantic and a lot of fun. And then I blocked myself with a wall of floaters and died very stupidly right at the last loop haha.
The animations of the lil dude are perfect.
Thanks for the game 💕
The gameplay works really well, even if it is a bit hard to understand controls at first. I feel some kind of safe time in the beginning would have been good to let the player get used to the controls and the gameplay in a non stressful environment.
The concept does really fit the theme really well, it is cool to see how constraints can force you to bend game genres in creative ways.
That is the kind of games that would be really fun in co-op
So the gameplay loop is pretty functional and concept itself is really cool. The music (or rather notes) is just enough to keep the mood going throughout the gameplay. I played on normal mode and managed to get the end.
Resource management is very interesting and I found it quite intuitive to go by and utilize. What was not so intuitive for me though was the actual printer / selector interace. I would definitely prefer to get the menu on the printer itself and just confirm my choice. Maybe it's just me but I found the current interface iteration a bit confusing and I lost quite a lot every time when I tried utilizing arrows instinctively to select what I want to print and Space to confirm on Selector. There's a room for improvement here.
Other than that, the game felt a bit lacking in variety of what to do, but it's a game jam, there's always place to complain on that matter, for my game as well.
Visual-audio representation is solid nontheless and you did a good job!
