I like the concept of the game and gorgeous art with sounds. However, I have a view that the combat system is a little bit messy. Because I can move freely like in an action game, but suddenly, my movement becomes 0, and I had to choose the action like in a tactical game. Actions can be activated after movement, and sometimes I just run circles to shoot. And there is no indication that your movement points have restored.

Beautiful art and good music, but the gameplay is bit weird. Sometimes I just have to run around before I can shoot an enemy or heal. It would be better if I could choose if I want to move or do an action. I still like it, just this moving mechanic is a bit wonky.

Des bonnes vibes "hotline miami", les graphismes et le sound design sont super, niveau prise en main c'est un peu difficile, justement quand on s'attend à du "hotline miami" x), y'a quelques petits bug mais overall c'était fun :)

The pairing of the pixel art graphics and the chiptune music is a perfect blend and the gameplay was a little confusing at the start but once I got the hang of it the game became really fun. The incoming calls were also really cool and a neat idea. Nice game, Keep it up!

Great art and music, though the Strategy Game-type gameplay seemed a little off, especially controlled with WASD. Otherwise, great game! The audio was amazing, and the level design just felt good; each environment had personality.

Seems like a cool idea and vibe, but gameplay is really confusing. Took me awhile to realize that its actual a pseudo turn based game. It just felt like buggy movement until I noticed that. I feel like a zoom out or some other effect to indicate that your turn is over/starting would help a lot here. I feel like a mix of action/tile turn based strategy would make for an interesting idea though.

Loved the art, soundtrack and the MGS reference. The action system is quite interesting albeit a little confusing at first. Great submission.

Great arts designs, the meeting between action ambient and turn by turn strategy is interesting.

Nice game :) I loved that you added these cut scenes with dialogue in between levels. While I generally like the art style, it felt a little bit messy. Polishing this up a bit would make it even better.

Love it! It felt a little easy, but overall the game is extremely polished and beautiful to look at :) I didn't find myself needing to use the Protect Hostage and Change Target buttons, but I had a blast playing it. Great job!

Awww it's too bad the next level wasn't ready general!

Solid entry. Great work to everyone! It looks and sounds great. Though the mechanics do need a bit of work to make them smoother or more streamlined, like others have mentioned too, I really like how innovative it was. Maybe having the option to set a default action after your movement could be an interesting way to smooth things out?

En tout cas, félicitation pour votre game jam!

Would have needed a bit more polish, and it wasn't very easy to get at first, but after a while you get the hand of it :)

It's a nice little game, nice pixel art, very nice music I must say, the turn based gameplay wasn't that bad but maybe it would need to make it more clear?
I enjoyed it :)
For some feedback, I would say that some elements that blocks your way are too well blended in the background, so you don't know which element would block you and some don't. The grass for example I thought at level 2 that it was a wall.
I like the codec animation and the funny sentences you putted in it :)
Well done on your entry!

Really nice art, and an intriguing gameplay idea. But the choices aren't very interesting, as there is always one good answer only to each situation. Would be better to have different tactics.

I really have a hard time understanding why it is round-based with movement points. Makes it really awkward when you have to shoot someone 3 times but don't have to move. But I like the music!

Nice art and amazing sound/music. I also liked the fourth wall breaking dialogues and the humour bits.

Gameplay was interesting and the main objective fits the theme well (I love turn-based tactics games), but I'm afraid it could use more polish.

I think having to exhaust the movement points before you could attack was one of the most frustrating bits, as it led to empty movement actions which could ruin positioning (to be fair, enemies don't move, so positioning in this case wasn't actually that important).

Besides, it was totally possible to view enemies and target them through walls (and enemies me), which shouldn't be the case unless there was some kind of opening. Enemies tend to appear as if they were covered by tables, but in practice I was never sure if those covers were real or just visual.

Last, it would be nice to be able to drop hostages by the helicopter one by one. In this case I can undesrtand having the game objective be "all or nothing", but in some areas (each hostage would be in a completely independent area) it felt like going one by one was the "logical" option.

All of these thing can probably be sorted out, and the concept is cool, so keep working at it! It would be great to see an improved version.

Nice game, with great graphics and audio. In situations where I just wanted to shoot someone it was annoying having to use up all of my movement first so an end turn button would be nice. Other than that the gameplay was decent, if shallow, and the game seems more polished than others in some aspects which is nice.

Solid game, I liked the idea of a hybrid between a turn based game and an action game! Some of the gameplay felt a little confusing, like how you have to use up all of your movement to be able to act and how it doesn't let you move again until you do act (which is maybe a good thing, but I was confused at first). It also seems like you could shoot through walls which was surprising. Good work though, this felt like a solid foundation for a game!

Good humor during the dialogs.

I think the game design of your game has to be refined: for now, you can just kill all the terorists and heal between each fight. Then you rescue the hostages. It should not be that easy to heal, there should be covers as for now it is impossible to hide so you just cross your fingers for not being hit. The walls do not stop bullets also. It would be really interesting to rework the game design for a future version of the game.

Love the graphics and music, well done!

I'm impressed out how much you got done! Enjoyed the hostage animation and how they followed you :)
Most of my criticisms have been covered above, so I'll just say that S for Squad was great and I had a lot of fun playing it! Thanks for sharing :D

Nice game. It was a bit annoying that you had to make all of your move actions before you could do any other actions, ended up with the character having to face away from bad guys before they could shoot them. But otherwise I think it was a really fun game. I like the graphics and music and think it could be a fun game if you finished it up.

There's a LOT of content in this game, and your art and humor were fun. I was confused at first why nothing was happening when the number dropped to 0 but eventually realized that it must check if an enemy is nearby at that point. This was a bit weird at times as I was able to shoot through walls in some places and in other places I couldn't shoot at someone who was right beside me. I love the balance between protecting hostages vs shooting when running, but I dunno if the hostages can actually die since I was extra careful. All in all, though, well done!

Enjoyed this quite a bit. The controls seemed confusing at first, but I got hang of them. Graphics are nice and sounds are satisfying enough.
