Return to Loop's Bend by kristinamay

[raw]
made by kristinamay for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

There's a convention in town, and the whole place is buzzing! There's just something... not quite right, here.

Can you, a barista with a knack for walking around town and having conversations with other humans, get to the bottom of it today, or will you have to try again today?

WASD to move, space to interact/advance dialogue.

Code: Kevin, Viv, zeitghost

Made with Love2D, Medley, and Pixaki.

UPDATE: The Windows version is fixed! Go forth and play!

Real talk: this isn't a fully finished game. We planned out a game on too grand a scale, and were only able to implement parts of it. But please, enjoy what we have!

Nice job ! I like the pixel art and while it’s not complete like you said, it’s pretty impressive for a game jam game!

You guys need to include the Love2D dlls in the windows upload (idk about the other ones). Otherwise only people who have Love2D installed can play it.
Edit: Now that I can play it I did so! It's definitely an interesting start, although obviously unfinished. It was quite ambitious of you to take on making a whole town during a game jam! The art is interesting, although there are some places where the implementation could've been improved like making sure you spawn by the door of the room (and I think you should change your blend mode on your sprites to stop the weird outline like on the librarian's hair? Either that or maybe turn off blending or something like that to get a pixel perfect sprite. There's some setting which I forget from my time making Love2D games). There were clearly some interesting story points planned like the convention and the graves being dug up, so it's a shame they couldn't get finished. Goodness knows I've overscoped many a game so I can't blame you for that, now you know that you need to make a little smaller game next time! Good work.

The OSX build appears to be corrupt, but I was able to manually go into the package and run the executable.

I really liked the pixelated style, but the characters movement felt pretty slow
