Unbroken Shell by Garett Cooper

In Unbroken Shell, a solitary robot left alone in empty world must bring the last sign of life back home.
For my third Ludum Dare game, I decided to focus a bit more on visual and atmosphere than I had on my past projects. While the vibe might get a little too close to student art film in places, I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out.

@petturtle Yeah, I wanted to expand the platforming more but I locked myself into the character/tilemap proportions and found that it was too difficult to maneuvre n in tight spaces for more interesting platforming and too late to change the movement mechanics. Ah well, something for my next project.
I'm afraid I couldn't quite get the hang of this though.
One minor point, the collision is a little bit messed up on the edges of ledges sometimes.
Loved the ending, enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the world. The game was definitely challenging. The best tip I can give to others is wait until you've reached the apex of your jump and then move forward. Trying to move in the air too early is a recipe for disaster in the later parts of the game!
I also found the second run of platforms to be difficult.
the only thing I didnt really like is the movement physics (instant stoping after letting go of left/right), it made it more challenging but to the point of frustration, other than that very cool :)
You have to stop, find a good position before you next jump, don't rush.
I like it.
Cheers.
The music is well suited.
The game is uber frustrating at times :) Reminds me of "Getting Over It" (in a good way)
I dont understand what happens in the ending cutscene though
