Baby, please don't break my hearts by Stadoblech

Defend your hearts!

P.S. Game was made in hurry, if i had more time, i would love to add more enemies and levels but unfortunatelly deadline is real :D

I made some postjam changes (from feedback i got, thank you folks! :))) (i hope i did not broke jam rules)
1) Added new levels

2) added difficulty factor: walls are not shrinking

3) some color changes 4) lower volume (its not screaming too much like used to)
If i broke some rules regarding postjam releases, let me know, i can rollback to old version. Thanks

Add some levels.
Sound and look are well done
Would love to see more! Levels that move about, different enemy behaviour. Lots to love.
By far the JUICIEST game I played in this jam, it has it all, SCREEN SHAKE ,CRUNCHY SOUNDS, SCREEN SHAKE.
I really loved it but my only problem is that it doesn't get harder as time progresses so I would recommend putting a challenge like "beat this time xx:xx:xx with not hearts lost".
Overall fun game with simple art style that reminded me of Bad Apple and Undertale.

The music and graphical style are really great here!
It resembles some obscure DOS-games from the 80's I used to play as a kid. (Games that were considered old already then!)
I like the fact that it spawns you in a random level every time you start.

I managed to last 3 minutes in this level, with only one heart majority of the time.
As much as I like the feel and style of the game, I had the same thought as @thebaecun that it gets boring quite fast.
And it's somewhat ironic that I find the game easier when I intentionally let most of the hearts die so I only have to protect one from the rockets.

Still, I think you could probably do really cool stuff with this entry as a basis. If you'd change the game-dynamics or the goal of the player somehow, it could also serve some other purposes. I encourage you to explore the possibilities of the engine you've built!
Keep making games!
If you want to know the timestamp of when your game was played you can see it in this spreadsheet:

And then look in my latest videos and find your game being play (after the current stream ends)

Problem you described is pretty tricky since in new prototypes there are new content and new enemies and spawns which act little bit differently than rockets.
But thanks for feedback, if i will build on it it will be handled (i hope)
