Beelieve by Diego Teran

[raw]
made by Diego Teran for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Description:

This is a puzzle game where you get to play as an unlucky bee who tore its wings before getting trapped in a spiderweb. Your goal is to traverse the web and rescue a group of small flies, without being consumed by a bunch of spooky spiders. Together, you might find a way to escape for good…

Gameplay: When on the web, click and hold on an adjacent node to walk towards it. Be careful though, walking on the web might cause you to alert the spiders!

Hey, I really like your game! I finished it even if last two level where challenging (my anxiety level rised up quite a lot when the spiders got me..). Love the art style!

Good job! I like your take on the theme and the wiggling webs are so satisfying :) Pretty fun overall!
It's a tiny bit tedious to click on the point to move along the web, and pretty stressful when a big spider is chasing after you, but maybe that's the point? I would have appreciated alternative, snappier controls with keys, to move the bee.

Great job! I really enjoyed this, excellently done. Very cute graphics, and overall a very nice idea for a puzzle game.

I encountered an endless looping bug (how appropriate for the theme!) in the hexagonal spider web with the six spiders: one of them ate me, but the level didn't end, they just walked back and forth with my corpse (could have been a race condition because two spiders overlapped and ate me simultaneously).

Probably it's one of the most precious and interesting works out here! Graphics are very cute and detailed. Also I really liked the mechanics and your game kept me on my toes. I will be happy to advise my friends to play your game!

Very cool entry. As @zakamana said above, the controls can take a little bit of getting used to, but I think overall you should be very proud of what you've made here. Fantastic work - well done! :)

Really nice puzzle game! I enjoyed playing all the level, and even wished for more! Adding music would be a nice addition to improve the anxiety feeling :) You can be proud!

Fun little game. As a spider-folk, I approve. Kek!
I think the movement could be a little snappier or it could be done by "steps"/"turns" by clicking on the spots to move, instead of having to hold the mouse's button.

Great graphics! I like the wiggly web effect quite a bit, and having real-time puzzles was a really interesting concept. I was amazed by how much anxiety I felt for a pixelated bee! The only thing that I'm missing is a bit of music; something simple (even some ambient nature sounds) would have gone a long way.

I had to check your game out because we both went with a spider theme, but in mine the player takes a bit more of an active role in fighting them off ;)

This was a really cute game. It took me a moment to realize, not only was it a puzzle, but I also had to be quick with moving my bee! I was expecting a hare & hounds-like and I was not disappointed!

OMG! This was my reaction in the first level, the graphics are one of the bests on the jam, the concept is just genial, everything is just perfect 4,8/5 to me, the level 8 difficulty is just really hard btw, but amazingly great entry! congrats!

Really interesting mechanic i liked a lot, love the art style! Struggled a bit on the 8th level but managed to beat it :D Had some issues with the web version of the game where it was not collecting the fly on the first level, the windows version worked fine! Great job overall!

I didn't really understood the logic of the game and why sometimes the spiders started chasing me and sometimes not but I managed to beat it by tries and errors. A tutorial screen explaining the AI of the spiders would be a plus imho. Good work overall!

Nice simple game, was quite fun to play.
The mouse controls make for a very tense few seconds when you have to move fast to escape from the spiders.
The eating sounds are also great

Very nice game. Cute graphics, cool idea and implementation. Even sounds are there. Level select. Smart theme usage. Very complete and polished.

I really couldn't watch the poor bee be eaten alive every time I fail tho. 😁
