You are a controller of an exploration robot stranded in far away planet, sadly its code corrupted and it will break once it runs out of commands, so your task is to type navigation orders into console as fast as you can.
HOW TO PLAY: - TYPE in COMMANDS to operate the robot and submit with ENTER - Each grid cell executes 1 command. - Navigate the robot to the GREEN point to complete the level. - If the robot RUNS out of commands the game is over. - You can START typing during the countdown, so plan ahead. - Don't drive to rocks, out of the path or out of the map. - The command line is always focused, you don't need to click it to type. - The turn command execute in spot.
THE GAME HAS TWO DIFFICULTY LEVELS: NORMAL: You just type first letter of a command "l" for turning left, "r" for turning right and "m" for moving forward one tile. HARD: you need to type full commands "left", "right" or "move". It's similar to a typing test :D
THE GAME HAS 101 PROCEDURALLY GENERATED LEVELS, with progressive size. The progress is saved, so when you reopen it will start from previously played level. The game also has a "completed" screen, screenshots of it are welcome in the comments :D The algorithm used for levels is called Wave Function Collapse.
TOOLS USED: - Unitu 2019.4 - VSCode - Blender - Photoshop - Bosca Ceoil - Bfxr

The visuals are really good, and the music was fine for what it was, just maybe too repetitive?
Great entry !
I played in "super expert mode" and only used left and move, so I had to type three times left for a turn right :D
Really nice work!
Thanks for playing
My idea about the theme was, that the robot is running on while(true) so you need to give it commands on time so it has something to execute (hence the theme), not sure if I telegraph it enough or if it matches. Thanks for playing
I had an idea for a similar game some time ago and your creation is much better than what I imagined :)
It was fun and rewarding to play it.
The only thing I would change is the music. After a couple of levels is was more of a distraction than mood setter. But, that's a detail. Thank you for making this game.
Edit: about my thoughts on level "paths", I just want to clarify that I dont literally mean a straight line path, when I describe a level's path I am thinking of the path in general. I am not sure If my thoughts will come across clearly or not but hopefully you get the idea.
@mz-dino Thank you for playing, you can see previous commands on the left I have to clip them, or you meant commands from previous run i.e. after you crash and restart? That would be interesting as you could compare the run and see what went wrong, nice idea.
It would be interesting if you added things like rocks you could scan as extra commands to add more interesting gameplay after you've mastered the basics?
The visuals are quite nice and I didn't even mind the music.
Oh... and where's the loop?
With simple design you had time to polish it. I really like graphics. Console interface, film grain and noise on top are really adding to feeling like you are remotely operating this rover.
Great job :)
