What a game jam! I was a bit in a rush and didn't manage to implement music in time so I decided to not be evaluated in audio even if I had a lot of ideas for music. I took an extra day to record the piano and implement the music to give you the best experience. It's a very short game, I didn't expect modelling frame by frame every mesh would be so long. I hope you'll enjoy it even if it's very short. Thanks for playing!

@mikoziq, perfect timing just went on the page and was about to ask when you commented.

As for the game, it was very short but I loved the humor, the trippy mushroom or the victory for not taking the ring were nice touches. The blocky art style was nicely done too and fit very well.

In my opinion it just needs some music in the background to set the mood.

Great job though, I really liked what you have done in the 2 days! Well done!

I love the unique graphics you came with the game. The concept is cool. And it's really tiny unless you want to 'let it go...' . Great job on the entry!

Love the voxel animations and storytelling style. Background music would definitely complete the experience. I had to see all the different story branches and enjoyed it all the way through!

The animations and visual art assets give the game a very nice casual feel. This coupled with the lighthearted choices and payoffs make this game a quick and fun playthrough.

Voxels! I can't understate how great and whimsical this looks, and even the little voxel box the story takes place in animates like it's caught in a loop. Also certainly the game that's best used the loop aspect as part of its humor.

This is a fun game, and it fits the theme well. I like minimal games like these.

I would ditch the word "Meh"; otherwise, the choices are intriguing. Nice work. This game has potential.

So great! The art is awesome - it's rare to see a voxel game in a game jam! I really enjoyed everything about this game and am astounded you managed to achieve this in 48 hours! Mind blown :O

@madbookstudios Thanks! Yes it was pretty intense to model every frame and I did half of what I wanted to achieve but to be fair I took extra hours to record the piano and add the music after the end of the compo.

Love the cute diorama design of the different stages. Wasn't clear how to get back to the beginning after reaching the end -- a "back" arrow to reverse a previous decision and try something else would have been nice.

The simple piano hits on the different rooms were also a lovely touch!:)

Beautiful game, the music adds the extra suspense. Wish it was a tad longer but i guess game jams are like that :D

Hey I appreciate the effort put in to the visuals here, well done! great personality and each detail (even if there aren't a bunch) are well polished. I definitely held on a couple of the loops like the arrow hitting my face to giggle. Definitely would have liked more story but the abrupt ending also has its own charm. Nice work!

@Barrier @PhillSerrazina : Yes you have to die to stop the loop and find true happiness. It's a bit dark but nothing has to be taken seriously obviously. Thanks a lot for playing !

I didn't expect to die when I finally get my hands on this ring!! this is bad!!!
Nah, kidding, I liked the humor and you should do a longer adventure with more choices because its really fun to play. Reminds me of roleplay books with choices (nostalgia..)
Killer design ;)

The art was amazing man!
I loved how you took the theme of the game like outside of the game breaking the foruth wall.
The messages you tried to convey are some that are really imporant.
GREAT work!

The music was just great - small concise pieces that very well captured the mood of each scene. These paired so well with the animated pictures floating in darkness, which felt like pages from a storybook. The music and the pages really worked together. The first time I encountered the scene on the rock in the river, I sat and just enjoyed it for a while.

I also liked the writing, with a little mix of poetic phrases and humor. I think my favorite was "Happiness by intermittence." The opening also told me to "have little empathy" and I enjoyed being left to wonder whether this was an intentional subversion of my expectations or a small oversight. I also liked that you left a little mystery. I have a guess at what the ring of happiness is, but I appreciate that it's up to me to decide.

From a tactile perspective, I liked how easy it was to rocket through the choices. In ordinary life we can only take one path and not explore the others, so I appreciated that it was easy to do so in a game such as this. I went to the book shelf to find the appropriate quote from The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but I think it's up in the attic in a box, 90% read.

Overall delivers so well as a total package. I don't know how to feel about the fact that the music was added after and thus the audio cannot be rated. I guess I wish you gave yourself that extra day and submitted to the jam instead, so that I could give you those stars.

The story is great and a bit pensive. Tried some different branches and really love the idea of looped scenes for every event (shroom party time!).

This is fantastic. I would love to play a longer more expanded story done in this style. Really really well done, I sometimes get so caught up in mechanics and features when making a game. This is a fantastic reminder that just telling a story in a well executed manner is work enough and you executed on it very well in all aspects.
