made by AljosaCT for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

Hello, and welcome to STEI (Save the Earth Initiative) ! We are a secret organization that is monitoring and saving the Earth from natural disasters.

Your new job here is to monitor space activity... To make sure there are no asteroids heading towards the Earth. Space.png

What's that? Again? HELP! Someone calm down Mr. President! He is about to push the big red button! Mr_President.png

Well, that was close... Anyway, keep an eye on the science team. They might need your help. Science_Team.png

Thank you for your service. - STEI

This is my third Ludum Dare game ever.

It was coded from scratch in Java. I hope you like it :) If you have Java version mismatch error, that is because I used Java 8 update 241

Good job, the tutorial made me laugh. Though it was super tough! My Earth didn't last long...

Love the earth management concept and the tutorial is very funny haha! Unfortunately I had major lags and maybe visual issues (often can't see any "calm down" button) maybe because I'm on Linux. Otherwise it's good, even if only for the intro :) congrats

Well it seems like my sound engine doesn't wanna work on Mac... I guess I'll have to improve on that for LD47

it's so difficult to "calm down" someone!!! lol~ The tutorial really make me fun haha! But my skill is so bad that I can't keep earth alive in 15 seconds...good game~

Great Game. Like the fact that you have to keep your eye on three different things at a time.

Honestly? Super fun. Even though it's so simple. I would've loved to see more things come into play over time, and also I would've developed a system so that the things are constantly coming, but not all at once, ya know what I'm sayin'? There were times when you just kinda waited awkwardly, and then had to do 8888 things at once.

The game appears to me, on my Windows 10 computer, as a black screen, and nothing else. Do you have any idea as to why?

Good stuff:

The tutorial was great, teaching everything you needed in an entertaining and funny way. The multitask mechanics were well balanced, just the right amount of stuff to do to feel frantic but not so much as to feel impossible. Graphics were solid. Destroying asteroids felt super satisfying for some reason.

Areas for improvement:

As some other people have said, some kind of difficulty leveling might be nice-- that way you can also make it harder as you go as well as consistent. The "calm" button appearing on any screen was a cool idea but I feel like it should be explained better, maybe with the tutorial forcing you to switch screens in order to reach it.

Overall:

Liked it a lot! Simple but well executed and very fun game!

Great idea with protecting the earth. Juggling the different tasks was pretty fun ^^. The explosions of asteroids were a nice touch. Some more sound effects would be cool, but it's solid as is :)
