Cupid's Arrow Inc. Difficult Cases Division by SolitudeDude

logo.png Thank you for contracting with Cupid's Arrow Inc.™ Difficult Cases Division. This division strives to keep successfully matched couples, that might be having a few difficulties, together. We work very hard to keep our matching success rate high and cases like these really challenge our excellence.

Somehow, these two, horrible individuals got through the matching process and we need you to keep the relationship alive. At least until they're married and we aren't liable for their relationship anymore. Good luck and don't fail.

The game is turn based and you will have to use repair cards to remove the bad cards that the clients will play each round. These repair cards must be used to fix bad cards until those cards are fully repaired and are discarded. Each bad card that is repaired will grant you 1.5 cards for next round; repair 2 bad cards and receive 3 repair cards next round.

Love the theme and innovation here. Pretty fun play. One note is that on the HTML5 version, the UI is way outside of the bounding box and almost impossible to play

Hands down the best game I've rated so far. Love the humour and UI. Great job!

Is it possible to save their relationship ? These people are awful !
It's really not worth saving them, better end it from turn 1

(The HTML5 version worked fine for me, if it is too small you can just click on the "expand" button to go fullscreen.)

Nice UI, and humor. Good job !

Very witty  At first the hilarious instructions, card descriptions, and overall mood caught my attention to continue playing, but what made me really stick around was the brilliantly designed game mechanics! I got up to level 8 on my 3rd try! Showed it to my partner, and we had a great time playing it together. Well done!

Interesting take on the theme. The text was a little hard to read on a 3000x2000 display. Some funny options, nice work.

Clever take on the theme. You did a great job crafting the story with the introductions and card text.

Interesting little game that I seem to suck at, I lost at turn 3 after two 10 cards popped out.
Great idea letting the player choose the couple's name!
I found a bug in the "slept with someone else" card text, the macro (?) referring to the user specified name seems incomplete.

I like the concept. It reminds me of Gwent from The Witcher. I suck at it, but I still have fun :)

I love what did with the theme! Great idea!

Font size is too small for me. And there's too much text. I some point I realise that text doesn't matter and you just need the points, which is a shame because this is a great game to focus on the writing (which is very good). An improvement you can make in the future is to hide the points. Make them implicit in the text. So you have to read the text and figure out what strategies you use.

Again, great work!

Great sense of humor, I got a lot of chuckles out of the cards and the flavor in the intro was cute.

The core mechanic is good and I'd like to see some sort of progression as the game goes on - maybe more things to play cards on that you have to keep balanced, or more cards to deal with in general, basically something to mix it up. Nice work!

Loved the flavor text and overall setup! It would have been cool to have some more interesting card effects, like maybe a card that divides the value of client card, or a card that freezes them for a turn. Currently it feels like your options are pretty limited. But overall I enjoyed it!

This is a great idea. The cards are very funny and getting to add your own name is a great touch. However at some point it stops being a story game and is just a math game and a luck game, which might have been the ultimate goal. I think there's a great opportunity at the end to show some of the best scenarios you fixed like "PersonA slept with someone else, but they serenaded and had sex with Person B to make it better!" as like a highlight reel. Great work!

I like the concept and it is well executed, especially in the context of a jamp. I would love to have seen a little bit more card variation, spice it up. I enjoyed it ! Well done .

Very interesting concept. The cards are well written and makes me laugh. I like the sound effect: it is simple and effective. I feel this concept can be further developed:
- Add a deeper strategy component: currently it is mostly a math and luck game
- Add a "story" mode so that there are story lines to follow
- Continue productions (graphics, UI, music)

Took me a few playthroughs before I understood the controls. Got to 53 turns, both relationships were at 1 health for the majority of it :)

Haha! I love the logic here. Your friend was caught cheating on his wife! Well have you tried a bubble bath and going on some walks? I love the take on the theme too! Great work.
