Quivering
Quivering is a puzzle platformer where you jump around shooting arrows to hit hard-to-reach targets! The screen wrapping effect serves as a unique mechanic that enables a lot of interesting puzzle oportunities.
Quivering features eleven unique levels, with different mechanics and solutions I hope you'll enjoy!
Controls
Use the mouse to aim your bow, and hold left mouse button to charge. Release to shoot an arrow!
use WASD to move around, and space to jump.

Theme
Stuck in a loop. Once you shoot an arrow, it will bounce between walls indefinately, wraping the screen until it hits either you, a crate or spikes. The entire game is designed to make you feel like you are in a loop without resorting to time travel. Thanks to the screen wrap effect on all entities in the game, in my eyes the theme is very loopy.
Graphics
The look and feel of the game was very much inspired by Bubble Bobble on the NES, which also featured a screen wrap effect to instead enable interesting combat oportinities. In Quivering, after finishing a level you'll be transported in a bubble, through a scrolling transition to the next level, much like in Bubble Bobble. I think this effect added something extra to make this game feel fresh.

Audio
All the sound effects were made during the jam, with a Zoom microphone. The weird string of notes serving as music in the background is my first song I've ever composed, done during the jam! (+ / - to change volume)
Humor
Humor was not in the forefront of my thoughts when designing this game, however I think this game posesses some charm that might bring a smile to your face.
Mood
As with many of my jam games, this game is on the surface a hybrid between more modern 2d platforming games, and old NES games. I humbly believe the art direction feels pretty concise.

Well done. I enjoyed this mix of light puzzle solving and aim and even reflexes sometimes. Really cool. Nice sprites, nice sound effects. The shooting feels good.
[Bug?] I could never make the long jump so I cheesed this level by finding the perfect angle (placing yourself on the very end of the right edge of the platform).
PS: sorry for posting this here but it is the fifth game in a row that I play with @etrealjunior copy pasted comment. I think it is "fine" to post your link, especially if you're struggling to get ratings (which doesn't seem to be the case but eh), but the copy pasted message... Are you even playing the games? :/ (if not I hope you don't dare to give random or average grades). Furthermore most people already tend to go test the games of the people leaving them feedback anyway. I believe Ludum Dare is not a popularity contest, once you reach 20 ratings the quality of them is what counts not the quantity, take it or leave it.
Or maybe I'm just a prick and everyone is fine with such practices.
Solid entry!

I see I didn't do as well as others :(
Anyway, overall great job! Nice reference to Bubble Booble. Good gameplay and original idea.
I like your presentation, falling between stages, the floating in a bubble thing (I actually thought of a bubble mechanic too lol, not for respawns though)
I do wish the respawn was a bit quicker, but besides that it's a great entry!

Awesome take on the idea, I'd love to see even more levels of increased complexity
Good one!

The respawn is too long
The music is too quiet
This is very good submission, and I had a lot of fun with it. Gameplay, audio, graphics, mood were awesome. Nice job!!
You did a great job on this, the only thing it's missing now is more content!
