Cubleton Survive

The bombs fall on every continent, from the back streets of New York to the peaks of the Himalayas. Within minutes, over 99 percent of humanity is annihilated from the face of the earth, and within years the radioactive ash has cleared up the remaining few.

Nestled somewhere between alpha Proximus and beta Centauri, it takes about a decade for the news to reach you. You're floating here in the black void for just this eventuality, to serve as monument to mankind when all others have returned to ash.

You prepare to compose a song, broadcasted on all frequencies, which will keep the legacy of mankind alive.

How to play

First off, I gotta say that the story is a really nice touch. A nice, short exposition that makes this one stand out from the other beat-making games from this LD. It actually gave a bit of a haunting feeling as Energy was running down and you knew this was the last signal from humanity.

The gameplay is intriguing and it I liked that you had a somewhat unusual UI for making your beat pattern. The visuals stand out a lot and it's a bit more immersive than it normally would be. Overall I liked that there was a bit of exploration to the game in terms of not just finding the best sounds, but also playing with the different mechanics like group selecting and just rolling around.

Really impressive ! I have a think for interactive music and your game work really well ! I just had a hard time comprehend how it work but when I do I enjoy making music or pattern and see it work by himself ! The duration seems really good and, overall, I love the visual style ! It become mesmerizing quickly (the music is maybe too aggressive when every instrument play but, the player decide to activate or not all instrument, so, I can only blame myself)

Interesting tool for creating some beats. I'm not really sure what I'm doing because I'm kinda bad at these things, but this is a cool concept, and it looks nice too.

I really like it, and it doesn't even need a goal beyond messing around with cubes. The collisions on the dance floor create nice procedural music as they inject some variance in the repeating commands.
