So what would happen if you could only do 1 action at any given moment, and what if that action was nowhere in your control? Well for my submission to GMTK I submitted late and didn't get in; same here but the admins are pretty amazing. Terrible joke aside, the way I incorporate the Theme of "Stuck in a Loop" is that all the abilities that you are able to use are only accesible through a timed loop. Anyway I had lot's of fun creating this game, and I hope you have fun playing it, I'll attach controls down below, and descriptions of all 4 abilities available to the player. Also vote 5 stars on the music just to see if it's possible to rank so high there with nothing to show for it.

Controls:
A/D - Move Left/Right
Space - Jump
Left Mouse Button - Use Current Ability
Escape - Pause/Resume
Abilities:
Melee
Kill 1 Nearby Enemy per Melee Attack.
Ranged Shoot Far Away Enemies at the Direction of your mouse. Pierces through Enemies.
Defense
Activate a bubble to protect from all attacks. Limits mobility, deactivate the bubble to jump around.
Special
1 time use per cycle. Kills all enemies that are within a certain range, does not kill enemies that are too far away

The abilities felt a little weird, I basically always ended up just sitting where I was with the bubble and the melee attack is inferior to the ranged attack in every way (also it seemed like it got stuck from time to time? :P)
Went up to level 11 to see if something changes over the course of different waves and it was satisfying to kill the enemies with the nice particle effects, but it got a little repetitive after a while as no real threat seemed to come from those guys :P Still a solid entry for the short amount of time! I'm not really sure about your joke about this being your GMTK submission :D
Jumping need a little polish and, in my opinion, the abilities should switch faster, for more dynamism !
Anyway, it's a pretty good game !
