Just Another Day by Chaoseiro
Just Another Day is a game about a guy and his day to day life while in quarantine. All the player has to do is comply with the character's seemingly tedious daily routine. However, sometimes life gets monotonous and repetitive, and feels like we are stuck in a loop... unless...
Can you break this cycle?

+love the isometric view you chose
-Choosing to make less tasks, and polishing the feedback you get from the completed tasks could be an improvement!
Good work on finishing the game!
Figuring out what goes where was a bit of a headscratcher, but a few times veered into the bad kind of headscratching rather than the delighted. There was some delightful interactions don't get me wrong (my favorite was the engine), but I think it would feel a lot better if you didn't just drop an item you were carrying when you click a wrong piece of the environment. Instead A lil error sound effect + maybe a visual wobble of the carried item would feel a lot better instead of continuously dropping and picking the item back up as you test the different nodes.
Also I tried to apply the hammer to the dishes multiple days but it kept not working until like the fourth. Also some of the items weren't clear to me initially, the tie in particular I didn't 'get' until the dog started a day at the desk.
Well done!
*ahem*
With that out of the way, it's a funny little commentary on being stuck at home! I liked the artwork a lot, but I feel like the style of the 2D sprites stuck out a bit in contrast to the 3D models. The art isn't necessarily bad, far from it, I just feel like it's a mismatch.
Also, I had a hard time deciphering what the items were based on the resolution I played the game in. I would consider trying to scale them up a bit.
Overall, a fun little minigame :)
Altogether i like the game, especially for the humor and music (really great job on that one! :)). All thats left to say is:

Great job!
(also fun game).

Congratulations on the submission and all the best to the entire team!
I'm giving you high marks for it since you did a great job, but mostly because you can pet the dog! <3
We've decided to keep working on this game/demo and address all issues you reported in a "V2" that we will also link here when available
@ditam I'm really sorry to hear the game wouldn't run on your end... I also use Chrome and it worked fine, but will search what the problem might be... Have you tried the desktop version in the meantime?
I dig the style of this game, the 2D characters with the 3D models blend surprisingly well! Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to figure out what the game wanted me to do past day 2 in the time we had allotted. :slight_frown: That's always a risk with puzzle games, for sure. But I'll maybe try to come back to this one to figure it out if I get the chance!
Yeah, unfortunately the visual feedback overall wasn't good enough, and there was also a glitch with the tasks list (in day 2, at some point, you checked the tasks and they were all marked as done when they shouldn't). You and many other players got confused due to the lack of feedback and that's definitely something we will be looking into for the next jams.
So thank you very much for playing and reviewing our little game, and we wish you the best of luck with your amazing Dude Ranch!
