Cats In Flats by Black Flag
In this 3D top-down shooter, you fight off hoards of cats in order to save your pet Goldfish! The cats may start by looking cute and innocent but soon, they ramp up their attack to a military standard! Guns, Tanks and Choppers will be sent after you, and most importantly, your fish...
To win you must survive all 15 waves, including the final boss battle, and also have your fish survive along with you! You can create defences using what furniture is available, and purchase items, weapons and upgrades from the shop!
All assets were made during the 72 hours for Ludum Dare 46, some disclaimers are made in the credits menu! Thanks for Playing!
DISCLAIMER The physics in the build work for furniture placement, but not as intended and can sometimes have whacky results. This won't ruin a playthrough just looks a bit whacky
There is an in game tutorial as well as tips along the way however if you get stuck:
WASD- Move
LMB- Shoot
-Press E while looking at furniture to pick it up and E again to throw
-Press E while looking at the TV to access the shop and E to close it again
-Right mouse button is use item!
Also a big thank you to the modeler for this game: Martellus!

Nice work!
No cats were harmed making the game.
But it is a good and genuinly funny game. The voice over is amazing
I think there are some ways to improve it because for now you fill quite quickly overwhelmed, but the graphics are good and I love the jokes in the game. It sure is not smart to have a goldfish in a cat sanctuary xD
ahah the voice is cool, and a cat would never kill you. But cool stuff that you care about your goldfish. <3
Soo.. let's start...
Movements are really annoying since they gain momentum and you start to slide really fast from one direction to another,
The need of click for shooting is a bit weird, since you can just shoot just in front of you. I personally would have preferred to use the arrow keys to direct the shooting and WASD for moving - might be a personal preference though.
A sort of tower defense I see, not really my thing but the sound design were cute. You could have make more in level design and try to make the obstacles a bit more solid, since they were moving really fast out of the way.
The "shop" wasn't really intuitive either. but this is a cute entry.
Thank you for letting me play your game <3
Fun game. Some UI and control awkwardness maybe (e.g. I keep moving after opening the shop). I really didn't like the fact that the cats could just spawn at the bottom of the room. Also that the furniture was so easily pushable by the cats! Maybe a clearer indication that I actually hit a cat would help, since they slowly turn around and then run away. And added to that, the fact that the cats still hurt while running away felt a bit punishing. I appreciated the voice overs!
(Sorry, realised I didn't rate during the stream, done now!)
I liked being able to shoot as fast as I could click.
There seems to be a resolution/aspect ratio mismatch between the game itself and the unity web player window. Probably a mismatch between the WebGL Player Settings and the itch.io settings.
I'm not sure giving the player health in addition to the goldfish health was necessary or interesting. It would be nice to know how much health each cat has so you know how many times you need to hit them.
Moving the furniture around was an interesting mechanic.
P.S. Every time I quit I get memory access out of bound error

I tried using furniture as blockades and the cats flipped over the furniture which was pretty funny to see. I also appreciated how you use water to get the cats away from the goldfish and cat treats.
I had a few issues, for some reason the first time I played I couldn't seem to access the shop, I dunno if I was not positioned correctly, but it worked afterwards. Also the movement felt a little slidy, but I think it might of been my macbook struggling to run the web version . But for the most part I could control things well.
I had fun playing and enjoyed the charm and humor of the game
but I think personally that you bit more than you can chew here.
I felt like the other gun is weaker because it doesn't actually good for protecting from waves since your bullets hits the cats any way. but it was a nice to have.
same feeling about the moving furniture mechanic. it is very interesting to have but in current state of play you cannot do much with it.
you had too many upgrades - item usage system - moving furniture system... etc but they didn't prove how fun they can be here.
I like the way you buy from TV (change the camera) very nice. needed better UI though.
also I got really close to TV and furniture and couldn't interact with them. I had to keep distance.
but this is a really great game for 3 day jam! good job.
the shop would trip me up because the time wouldn't stop, causing me to stress over it.
sometimes, especially when i would carry a turtle, I would get stuck at furniture, causing my demise. that wasn't fun.
I liked the speech audio.
I can see this being a fun concept though.
There's a lot going on so I didn't have time to explore everything fully there, but it's pretty neat.
The cats are evil and must be stopped before they bring about the end of the universe! Except that's not the plot at all, but... close enough.
here is my playthrough of the game
Edit: Unfortunately the video did not pick up my microphone, so here are the main points I made.
1. This Game needs some feedback on hit detection as well as feedback on what the Items in the shop do
2. The shop is very akward to use and I once bought some cat cookies on accident while not even having the shop open
3. The Starter Gun is by far the best because you can spam click with it, I would limit the fire rate
4. I liked the Graphics and the Narrator Voice was excellent
