Hubble's Loop by mfischer3d

[raw]
made by mfischer3d for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

My first game jam after a couple of months learning unity. When I think of loop I think of jumping quests and how you looping back to a checkpoint or the beginning when you mess up a jump. I took this idea and speed running and tried to combine them into a game. I Hope you enjoy playing it, and try to get the fastest time!.... My Recrod: 10:11:05 || Deaths: 12

Cool game! But the environment feels quite empty. Perhaps add some stars!

Gave up after 50 deaths lol :P No best time. Start is crazy hard.

(Gave it far more of a shot than you gave my game it seems)

Nice game! The black spheres you are able to pick up confuse me a bit. They seem to make you smaller which in turn makes it impossible to continue the game and you have to reload the application. Maybe I missed something, regardless very fun entry, at first I was really careful but went for a speedrunning attempt not too long after.

Felt really nice to play, took me awhile to understand the getting smaller mechanic, I honestly thought it was a bug at first that wasn't letting me jump as high :joy:

While this game is far too hard for me, I do like the idea. It lacks Audio though.

Hard to understand where the next platform. Also its quite unclear that the black sphere kills players. Nice first try.

It's crazy hard, not because the level is super hard, but mostly in my case, because the camera. I would've loved the option to change the FOV, or even play around with the height of the camera relative to my player, because I had a very hard time figuring out what my hitbox was relative to the camera. Some more objects in the sky would've helped a lot too, looking into the black void was disorienting, especially when you had to jump to a platform that moves. Overall, making a 3D platformer as you first game jam is super ambitious, and it's incredible that you made what you have. Seriously, I'm impressed! This is my 16th Ludum Dare and I just now made my first 3D one. I can definitely see you making some incredible games if you keep going. Great job!

@100th-coin Thank you for the feedback. I'll make sure to add more options in my feature games as well as a fuller less distracting environment. I liked the unique mechanic in your Ribbon game. Good job implementing 3d and 2d together. I Hope to check out your submission in the next game jam!

I love jumping games like these, the good floor is lava kind. However, i found a few problems for example I would get stuck in between rocks all the time and there was also a hanging function i think? I would get stuck sideways agaisnt rocks. Overall I still think this was a solid submission and I had quite a bit of fun playing it, thanks!
