Tribute:

The core mechanic of the game is greatly inspired of one of the Scott Cawthon's games called Sit 'N Survive, this game was made by him a long ago even before FNAF and his popularity.

sitnsurvive.png

I loved this game when I was a child and one day when I remembered all the good times this game gave me I tried to searched it on the Google Play Store and for my surprise Scott deleted it, and when I tried to installed it from mirrors of the internet but the Android version compatibility was gone.

So pretty much all in this game, from its mechanics and the crappy scaled pixel art style, are based directly on Sit 'N Survive and I know this game is too niche to be liked by everyone but it's okay, you can give me feedback and I will try to get better and hey, maybe you're part of the niche who likes it?

I thought the way you handled the opening was pretty neat!

Interesting little game! I found it a little confusing at first but the survival guide helped me. I think you did a really good job with the mood and overall it was a decent entry.

Didn't know what some items did but I understood this completely instantly because it very closely reselmbles Scott Cawthon's 'Sit and Survive'. Cool game tho. I loved that the flower holds up the umbrella.

Nice opening and theme relation. Was not pretty sure how some of the items worked properly. Great effort however for a single man project, well done!

To be honest, I didn't really connect with this game. There seems to be a couple of different phases in the game play.... you start by collecting sun, then spending your energy points on some kind of defense or whatever, without really knowing what offensive opponents are coming your way. So it's kind of like blind spending. Then you are attacked by various enemies and basically just sit there taking the abuse until the phase cycle repeats. It's the blind buying mechanic that makes me feel detached from the game play. The graphics and sound are mediocre. But don't let any negative feedback keep you from continuing to make games. You can only improve, so I hope to see what your next game submission looks like. Good Luck! And best to you!

@angelo-saez actually the game is based a lot in Sit 'n Survive, it's a shame that game is no more in the play store, so I made this as a tribute.

@almighty-games I liked a lot your feedback, I think any feedback is important even the "harsh" ones, and like I said in the stream I understand completely you're opinion, maybe the next time I would try to make something less of niche (and this isn't my first jam btw haha)

Cool concept - really liked the art and the story. And thanks for the little lesson in gaming history - I've never seen Sit 'n Survive. And it looks like a really nice but forgotten concept that hasn't been explored much.

Nice idea, the gameplay is intersting. Just it tooks me some phases to really understand very well. The sound design and the graphics must be rework for me if you want to continue this game but nice game for a quick gamejam like that.

Nice game!

It was really funny fighting against all enemies. Nice twist at the end with the failed escape xD.
The separation of the day and night with a "ready" button felt a bit weird. It would have been better if you used a timer instead, where you are pressured to buy fast at day and then at night get a sense of tension: "Can I survive this night? Come on only 5 more seconds!". I just sat there at night waiting, as I had no clue how much night was left.

I've never played Sit ‘N Survive or even heard of it but the resource management mechanics in this game was interesting! I survived for 9 days. The survival guide was confusing for a first time player out of context but made more sense after playing the game. At first I was a bit confused about what I had to do but after a few days I got the gist of it. I liked the art and sound effects! They were relatively simple but they fit the mood of the game well. At times I had a fire icon but I still don't know what that's for. Good job, especially as a one-person team with such a short time!

I found your game fun to play and to try all the possibilities and the objects that can be bought. The graphic design is nice, the sound design too (lacks a music though), the dev is visibly flawless and making a cinematical introduction to your game is a great touch !

The only improvement I would advise for your game would be more playtest and balance.
Some items I quickly targeted as 'do not buy' like the umbrella that protects you from the sun but also keeps you from being watered so same-same as not having one. Also I was frustrated that I couldn't buy an item that I already had to repare/replace it. I died everytime because my spikes or bug net was destroyed during the night despite the fact that I knew it was going to collapse that night particularly, but couldn't avoid it even if I had the money to buy three of those the day before.

Otherwise it's a fun game ! I would have liked to know if the aircraft ends the game but after 5 games I still could not reach 2000 energy unfortunately. Nice work anyways !

Really nice concept! I loved picking suns while in the shop mode, the visuals and the sound are fine. I had a bit of trouble sometimes cause it was too difficult to understand what to buy next. En general ha estado muy bien, felicitaciones por el juego!

I really loved playing your game ! Nice concept !
Graphics are... good :)
Choosing what will help my little flower go through the night is really cool. I didn't use all upgrade though. Like the figurine, I don't even know what it does x)
I wish I had a bit more space to click one those sun before they touch the regeneration field.
And wouldn't be better if each element had a life bar ? This would help us know when it will be destroyed.
I really like your game :)

One thing however : I didn't rate your game on Audio because your update 1.2 and the date when it was published (23 of April) let think that you added music and sound *AFTER* the end of the game jam. And that a no go for me to note on Audio topic then...

I like the humor emanating from the game, present in dialogues, items etc. but I don't really understand how to counter the "enemies". I think it requires a bit of help in the description of the game. Maybe you also want the player to understand everything by himself, depends on what feeling you want him to experience!

I'd just change the sound played during the dialogue parts, I found it a bit aggressive (maybe reduce it's volume?)

Funny entry in any case!

@wegpast The music was added after, but the other sounds have been there from start. Thanks for your suggestions I will test them in a future version.

@number6406 yeah the dialogue parts are high pitch so I'll reduce the volume even more haha, thanks for your comment

Nice game. Cute graphics and interesting idea. I like the shop idea and trying to earn enough money to buy what you need between turns. Great job!
