Torch Wood by Jakey113G

[raw]
made by Jakey113G for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Your objective is to find a safe location to sleep. Keep your torch alive through out the night by finding kindling or improvements to the torch in the world. Your torch is the only thing that can help you navigate the world as you search for sanctuary.

Use WASD or LEFT Analogue stick to move. Use Space or A Button to interact with the environment.

I'm super impressed that it's compatible with an xbox controller! :)
I really enjoyed playing.

Nice environment. Feel like this really needs more shadow work - some 2D volumetric shadows would really make this pop, and make the maze a little more challenging.

The environment was very nice to explore. I was surprised to see the player zoom across the screen, but I got used to it fairly quickly. Overall a pretty fun game! Good job!

Very cute game! the fire mechanic is very nicely realized. I liked the feeling of claustrophobia of it dying down while I was in a cave.

Simple and efficient. I liked the cute art, and the fact that you were able to create such a big map & such a variety of assets for different environements! Nicely executed.

Really nice execution of a simple yet interesting concept! I really felt the tension of losing light deep in a cave without knowing where to go. Still managed to be easy-enough to navigate with a totally open feel to it.

Cool execution of the theme. I really felt myself tense up once I realized how little light I still had while I was in the middle of the cave lmao. Good job!
