note: the server is not currently running due to connection problems + the fact that it eats up my RAM. if you download this you will only be able to access the tutorial and wont be able to connect to other players. sorry everyone, and thanks for your feedback

Game just hangs "connecting". The tutorial makes me so interested in playing this though!

When I open it there is just a blank grey screen. Just when I was ready to give up, it changed to a "connecting" screen, but that was where it stayed.

It actually loads if you wait a fairly long time -- but then you just get a tutorial.

Sorry guys! The game needs a server running for it to work, and we're having issues with it. Our programmer is in a meeting for half an hour, but he'll get it fixed after that. Save the link somewhere and come back to it, we promise there'll be a game to play soon!

Also, there was an issue with optimisation when we exported the game - whenever you start it, it will have a blank grey screen for about 15 seconds as the music loads in. Annoying, we know, but it will work fine after the music loads. Just give it a minute!

Thanks for trying out our game!

I'm still getting a grey screen. I'll stick around on the page for a little bit, keep me updated?

The concept for this game is REALLY strong, and if expanded on I think it could be great. I love the realtime online element, that is very impressive for a jam game. Nobody was on when I was playing, so I got a friend to download it and play it with me. It ended up just coming down to us doing fill in the blank stuff to get the others to say the word. It is also kind of annoying how you can only send a message when the other person has sent one as well. But if there were some more rules in place and fixes this could be really cool. Good stuff!

Really cool concept, but was not able to connect with anyone.

Really nice idea. But servers were down so I couldn't connect to anyone even though my friend was also online on the other side.

@billehbawb Thanks for the feedback! Really great of you to go to the effort of getting your friend to play.

You're right, it definitely has some issues right now. An unfinished feature we were working on would allow players to punish other players for spelling out their prompts exactly, for instance writing l i k e t h i s; there was a feature where if you thought you knew the EXACT wording of another players' prompt, you could write it into a separate window and get a bunch of points for yourself along with some punishment for the other player. If you were wrong, you would be punished, so you would only use that option if you were certain of what the other player wanted you to say. That way, there would be a tension between being too vague and being too explicit.

The fact that you had to take turns sending messages was an intended feature, not a bug, but we didn't explain that clearly. We had reasons for it, but they would have been easier to understand if we explained them in the tutorial. Maybe we should have cut it for the final build, given we had no time to add an explanation.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Awesome of you.

Nice idea but nobody is online to play. I appreciate the effort of making a multiplayer game for a jam since if nobody is online nobody can test your game it's a real bet to do this choice. I noted only the concept and not the software since I didn't played but I think it's still legitimate. 5/5 innovation.

Would be nice if you could add builds for other OS like Linux and Mac

I *LOVE* the concept. Would be so cool to see this get some more love. As others have said, get a grey screen at first, but if you wait it eventually pops up!

++ the idea is super novel and interesting. Could see this being implemented into a really dope board game or web application

++ art style is simple but gets the point across

-- I'm sorry ya'll are having server issues. I'd really like to try it out fully with other players!

-- a splash screen saying "loading" rather than just a grey screen would be solid on startup.

@nova31 Thanks for the feedback! You're right; it was a gamble making this an online thing, and unfortunately, it didn't pay off. If we got more people involved, it might

@dilauraba Thanks so much! Your feedback is really useful. And you're right about the loading screen - it was unfortunately an issue that cropped up only at the very end of the jam. There weren't any loading issues until we added in the music, and by that point, we didn't have any time left to polish it up. A loading screen will be the first addition if we come back to this project.

Thanks to everyone that tried out our game! If we get a working version going, we'll make sure to notify everyone who expressed interest in trying the game out with other players.

hey everyone, I'm the programmer for this game. like or reply to this comment if you are still interested in playing our game once completed.

if at least one person is interested, I think i can fix the grey screen and connection bugs.

if a enough people are interested i'll set up multiple servers so that the game runs any time, as well as adding in some extra rules to keep the game from being just a fill in the blank thing (I'm open for ideas).

than you everyone for the great feedback. It makes me happy to see you support our idea.

@feingehacktes good idea. I didn't think of that. I can do Linux, but I cant find a way to export for mac.
I will add a link to a Linux version now
