loved the mix of 2d and 3d. Huge fan of any 2.5d experience. I did have fps drops when interacting with Npc s but that maybe bc my comp is old. Great job!!

Great art! Awesome atmosfere change when getting out of the world! I just feel like there is some story missing in this game, but it's understandable, you were trying to use the LD theme.

Cool concept! The prototype looks great, and the game is very atmospheric. But I would like to see more levels and missions.

Oh wow. I enjoyed that experience. At the start of the game, I was just wandering around and doing the quests - until I slowly realized that there was a bit more to this game than at the first glance.
Nice interpretation of the loop! Seems like a parallel to a loop some might have experienced in a way in real life. The music and visuals supported that perfectly. Great game.
I gave up after a while, I might have missed an ending if there was one; if not - well that would fit the theme nicely. :D

Good job. I have to admit I was pretty confused though. What I really liked was the exit to the "underworld" or whatever it was to collect food....mood change was great. I think with more time I could explore it more and understand better what I'm doing.

I forgot to say, I really want a way to actually quit the game....I think what I expect is to be able to hit the Esc key to either get to a title menu or just quit. I understand it is a Jam though so maybe no time to get details in like that.

FANTASTIC JOB!

There's not much more to ask of you for a 72 hour jam, this is a complete experience with incredibly powerful commentary on how willfully we choose to live in a fantasy world instead of facing the problems of our own one! I can and will recommend it especially to Animal Cr[redacted] fans among my friends, if you'd allow it? :3

Everything just clicks. The atmospheric music (in both worlds) is beautiful and fitting, the "cartoon cutout" sprite style works great, 2D in 3D, the stark contrast between worlds, where is Jessica... no not the rat, the rich cat, the gameplay loop is fun and incredibly well balanced... Dude, I'm just a fan of this :D

This might be my first 5-star rating! Gratz! :D Thank you for your wonderful work on this absolute gem!

@funemaker Thx for the comment. Yay sorry about that. We realized that just right after we upload our game. Then our programmer out for a short trip. So we have to left the problem to dear windows, who got the big gun Alt+F4.

@trexxak Thx for the comment. The cake is a lie! We're glad that you made it so far!
Feel free to recommend it to all people you would like to, this game was made for it. Especially thx for you 5 star rating!

Wow, the atmosphere was great! The contrast between the game and the real world. I bought the vr set and I think that was the end. From being stuck in the loop of doing quests and collecting food to being stuck in the loop of playing forever. Great interpretation of the theme!

The contrast in mood is very well done for the game and 'real life'. The graphics are also great, even cute. The audio is good too.

Unfortunately the game is very true to theme and the gameplay does make one feel very stuck in a loop. Though I can't fault your group for being true to the theme.

One thing that could probably be improved is the instructions telling you to leave the virtual world. I had to die a couple times before noticing the leave button at the top right. I think those arrows pointing in 2 different directions totally threw me off. I was also confused since you can buy food in the game. I kept thinking there was a way to eat in the game.

Otherwise though, this is a really solid game for 72 hours. The world building is especially something to be proud of.

Really great concept, really great music and really great artstyle. I achieved one million bunny-coins. But i think ten million bunny-coins are too far away from me. Overall it's an incredible and solid game.

@thecritterscove Thx for the comment. Yay I think it could be more fun in gameplay. More mission or some upgrade or planting something... We'll try better next time.

@jdbuenol Thx for the comment. Earning ten million coins was hard. But one million coins means you've already beated most part of the game. Congratulations!

Wow, so I legit got addicted. And I didn't expect the twist of a dystopian world before I started playing. Really cool. Loved the upbeat happy music and tone of the in-game world and then the dark, deprived tone and sound of the real world. Really good art, sounds, and music! And the gameplay loop was super addictive. Felt good getting strapped into that life support system. Really good job!

Took me a minute to understand what was going on but when I realised I enjoyed it. I really liked the mood each realm had, even though they were both completely different.

OK, that is a brilliant game! I got into the deep meaning of the game, the choice between living in the real world and face its consequences, or living in a face world forever...
The graphic and the art design, in general, looks great.
The music sounds very good, I liked that the music becomes more broken when you become hungrier.
The gameplay is very relaxing and clears your mind for a couple of minutes.
To sum up, I like it a lot.

Good luck!

Funny story: I almost left that comment on my game page

It's really rare to find a Ludum Dare game that has something to tell you apart from just being a fun game. Even more so that it tells you that thing not just through dialog but through gameplay. And while the message here is rather on the nose it is also effectively delivered and a great take on the theme. The mood works great for that and is super well crafted. The cave purchase getting ever more expansive while the VR system is reachable is a very neat touch. Great job!

This was a nice concept and was a lot of fun to play too. The art-style really helps tie the whole game together. Prob the best mood of any of the games I've played in this jam.
