Download the game for the best experience! (If the last level doesn't work on HTML, it should be fine on downloaded versions)

This game was created using Unity3D. It's been so much fun creating this game and we both learned a lot. Can't wait for the next one!

While we did make the one sound effect used, we decided not to include this submission for the audio category

Version 1.1 is available for download via the itch.io page. This version has improved controls and wallfading. Version 1.0 will continue to run in the browser.

Cool idea!

I'm not convinced that mouse control was the right choice for this. I could never get the box to go where I wanted it to, and I could never look around enough or see enough to make an informed decision about where to drop. It's an interesting idea though, like a reverse Kerplunk.

Great Idea! Can have more impact when touching the lasers. Nice Graphics tho!

Really great concept, very enjoyable puzzle game.

The camera controls are a little cumbersome at times but other than that I really enjoyed it.

Nice idea and cool aesthetic! The mouse movement felt a bit odd for me as well, it was also a bit hard to fully grasp what was going in inside of the cube, maybe a translucent material for the ceiling and floor would have helped?

You've got a very clever concept for a game on your hands, but unfortunately I feel it's let down by it clumsy controls. I never felt I was able to accurately rotate the cube the exact way I wanted to, and the top and bottom never disappeared which made it hard to see what I was doing at times.

Yes! Nice idea, but I agree with @jofish, maybe rotating the cube by pressing AD, WS and QE would have been less confusing. Also I thought of doing this in 4D... that would be mad xD. In any case, nice work!

Pretty good game and idea. Would've been even better with sound.

Just think it could've been polished a bit to make it easier to see the line that the ball is gonna traverse or something, otherwise it makes too random because of perspective. That, or I'm dumb lol.

@niterich I can see how the controls are clunky. It was originally intended to have more accurate controls, but I felt I was spending too much time on it. I'll make sure this is sorted out in the future. A game with bad controls is never good! The top and bottom of the cube are mapped to zoom levels, if you zoom in with the scroll wheel, both will disappear. Not an ideal solution, but it worked.

@kl0z I never thought about having the cube be controlled with the keyboard, but it seems like it could work well. Thanks a lot!

Nice concepts, not so great handling. as stated by other, keyboard turning would be nice. But having more visual representation while turning with mouse would make it easier. Like where is the center/pivot of turning, having the constraints more visible, turning off any wall when it is in front of the camera (some didn't become invisible).

Some after jam polish and it would be good fun!

I have just released version 1.1 of Laser Evaders which has keyboard controls among other small improvements. The original version is still available for download and is the one that loads on the itch.io page.

I really liked playing this... congrats!
The rotation movement was slightly difficult, but after a while I got the hang of it.

This was a very well made game. Right as I started to think "they really should have added mroe variety to the puzzles" the puzzles shifted to incorporate much more environmental elements. To be honest, the last 2 or 3 were definitely my favorites. Great job!

Cool idea, but I also had a hard time with the controls, felt like some gimbal lock was happening. The only thing holding it back are those rotations. I really like the minimalist style and appreciated the that I could quickly and easily load back without losing any progress. Nice work and interesting take on the theme!

The box is super hard to turn, but still I really enjoyed the game. I think you should be able to use WASD or Arrow keys to move the box around.

I really liked the idea. Controls were a little difficult. I also think the walls should have been slightly transparent, because I found it really tough to see where I should be rotating. Overall, really cool!

Great idea, but I found it hard to manipulate the cube or see what I was doing. Refine those and extend the concept and you could have a great little puzzle game.
