Hey fellas!

“Start from nothing” in Pandorama means that you must keep playing the game to find the crates that unlock:

  • Notifications, Sfx, UI, Weapons, Environment, Obstacles, Music, ...

Collect the crates without dying to discover all the game features!

Pandorama.gif

Each time you play, the level is randomized!

Controls:

  • WASD or Left Joystick to move the character
  • Mouse or Right Joystick to aim
  • Left click or RB to shoot
  • E or Y to interact
  • Pause with ESC or Start

Way better with controller! :D

Really great game!
The art and graphics are stellar, next level. Could ship that today with how it looks and people would think it was a finished game.
I had a lot of issues with the controls, they feel like I am on ice. I died most of the time because I got stuck on a object and it takes awhile to pick momentum back up.
Tighter controls would be WAY MORE FUN for this game, and the sloppy icey controls take away from the fun.
Other than that, I couldn't recommend this game more!
Thanks!

I'm bummed because this game looks really cool, but there is only a Windows build. Any chance for a Mac or web build?

This is a great game. It plays better with a controller. Great graphics, great sound and great gameplay.

Nice team work. As said above looks already like a polished game visually. Liked the feeling of "I know how to double cross them" as soon as you realize the trick with the 3 trunks. But then things get more complicated

That's such a wonderful game! I love the aesthetics and discovering all the contents you can add was so much fun! I wish there was a difficulty setting though, it was pretty challenging at times, depending on what you got in the boxes. Anyway definitely one of the best games I've played!

Maybe differentiating the enemies vs you might help a bit, currently it's great and very polished (despite the difficulty) though!

This is an amazing game. Loved playing it multiple times. Shame you didn't allow sound rating because the sounds are perfectly timed and beautiful. Awesome work and kudos on an awesome take on the classic shooter!

This was really cool! The style was really slick, I enjoyed the enemies falling flat. I wish there had been some clarity on my health (maybe some blood somewhere?), and the sound spooked me at first (I had turned my volume up since there had been no sound, and then it blasted me all of a sudden).

Overall though it was a fantastic job!

(and thank you for uploading a Mac build!)

@selkkie Thank you so much! About the health UI, you have to unlock it, it's in the game. You can unlock UI (health and ammo), SFX, Music, Environment, Weapons, etc... but you have to find them!

About MAC version is working fine? I glad to know it :DDD I really hope you enjoy it!

The game is aesthetically pleasing, hoped there was more to gameplay. Maybe one of the first unlocks should be the winning condition, if it is there :) because I don't know if I found everything or not

I really like how you did the enemy AI. It always feels like that scene from John Wick 2 where they walk along the hall and secretly shooting silenced pistols at each other among the unsuspecting pedestrians. The only thing that is kinda missing is a dodge roll or some kind of slide to avoid incoming bullet barrages.
The visuals are lovely and audio effects are very orange-juicy (although you missed the opportunity to add a reload sound for some extra juiciness).

@zachary-shah Thanks for your feedback ,If you have your controller connected you will be able to aim with the right joystick,if you want to play aiming with the mouse you should disconnect the controller. (Controller only valid on Windows version)

Great game! The DOF and shooting felling are nice, and it fits the theme very well, however, each time I spent a lot of time and energy looking for the box, and each time I died I should start from the very beginning, maybe it's better to add a minimap system?

Great stuff! This game is looking great, I really like the art style. Also the mechanic with the boxes fits the theme very well. The controls are a bit floaty, it would be nice to be able to aim with the mouse. I don't know if there are any more boxes to open, because every time I died after 30 seconds (but maybe I just suck ).

Very slick presentation, and overall a very well made game!

Hi @drtizzle . Glad you liked it. You should be able to aim with the mouse as long as there isnt any gamepad pluged in  . Are you playing on pc or mac?

Great implementation of the theme! The visuals are excellent and atmosphere is very stylized. I found the screen-shaking to be a little too strong. I also felt as though the bullets traveled a little too slowly, making it difficult to hit the enemy (although easier for you to dodge). Well done!

Looks really nice, plays well, I would recommend getting Rewired for unity so it works with playstation controllers too.

I have nothing bad to say, only just general tips I think would make small improvements:
- Bullets and enemies have small hitboxes, and combined with the slow bullet speed, it means you are having to constantly make advanced velocity predictions to shoot on target, especially when they have plenty of time to just change direction immediately making your prediction useless.
- Ammo economy is extremely limited. You get all these cool weapons but like.. I don't want an uzi and an AK when it's just going to deplete my ammo faster, I need accuracy or bullet speed not spread when I only have 20 bullets and 5 enemies. My first tip could be fixed by just adding more ammo into the game.

Otherwise solid entry, nicely done. Art especially is really cool.

As everyone else is saying congrats on the art style, it's perfect. This game is textbook JUICE, and I like how the progression of it is basically adding more and more juice, I can almost feel like you could take some extra inspiration from the talks "Juice it or Lose It" and "The art of screenshake" and make your game be a playable version of that (which it kind of basically is already, but you could go further). You took a base concept that I am mostly tired about (nuclear throne like?), and brought some interesting fresh air to it, reminded me of playing flash games on newgrounds and kongregate and finding some gems.

Congrats!

Really well made game. Interesting to both use your thin dimension as a defense but also the wide dimension of the enemies to have an easier time hitting them. Also a fun challenge that the projectiles moved so slowly that you had to lead the aim quite a lot to hit them. Very well made and stylish. First time I played I survived for quite a while and that was because even if I moved around quite a lot I never found the add UI box. So the game got a little boring after a while. Next time I did find it and then a bunch of other boxes after that which made it quite hard instead. It's a bit hard to figure a way to help the player without also breaking the premise of starting with nothing. But perhaps the game world could have been a little smaller in the beginning and grown to become larger the more populated it became and the more tools the user has at their disposal to navigate the world.

Solid Entry and a very polished game! You collect boxes to unlock new items. Game feel and stylized art is one of the main points of this game. It is fun and juicy. I don't like the controls tho; feels slow and slippery. IMO, shooter games should have fast and clickly controls. There should be some kind of indicator that indicates to the next box so that, the player always have some clear goal.

Cool graphics and animations, smooth and challenging game play. I had a lot of fun exploring the game. Gotta say I got a bit uncomfortable at some point when I realize that unlocking new features could turn against me, but still a fun mechanic nevertheless. The footsteps sounds got a bit annoying at some point, but nothing that would ruin the game experience. Amazing work overall :)

Ok. Wow. I'm in love with the graphics. I'm totally obsessed by ways of mixing 2D and 3D and this is just the perfect blend. Interactions and feedbacks feel great. I always run out of ammo cause I'm really bad but this is super cool. Congratulations !

Hi! Really fun game and i like how well suited it was for the theme. Gamemechanics and graphics are good! The audio is a bit weird, i wish you hadn't panned the footsteps, and perhaps lowered them in volume since the character is basically moving all the time. The gunshots work well with the 3d sound but I would personally recommend that you decrease the panning effect slightly.

Overall fun game!

I really like the graphical style of the game, it's wonderfully unique. The game as a whole is very well polished. Game play-wise, I found it to be pretty standard as unlocking different parts of the UI or new tools didn't actually seem to do much from a game play stand point. In any case, it looks and sounds great, top level presentation all around.

Wow that is a super cool artstyle for a topdown shooter! Overall mood was great, but mostly felt like the floor was really slippery throughought the game. Ammo was also a bit scarce (or I just suck at managing it)

Great submission, and I'd like to see more of this!

Really like the 'unlocking game mechanics' part of this game, and the art style is definitely my favourite of this jam. But once I started only unlocking guns, I felt like you missed some truly fun opportunities. If you went the more funny route this could've been an absolutely amazing game, unlocking silly things that change the game mechanics more than just 'you shoot differently'. But great game, hope you take this further!
