Let's go buddy!

You are the operator of this rust- let's call it charming.. train! Get as far as you can without letting the engine fire go out, or the train blowing up, easy peasy. But don't get hit by those pesky track blocks those buggers put up!

Oh and don't get killed by those buggers either. I gave you a nifty revolver to take care of both problems untitled.png

Controls:

WASD - Movement Mouse - Look Left Mouse Button - Shoot R - Reload E - Interact Left Ctrl - Crouch Left Shift - Sprint

Control the speed of the train, slower and more vulnerable to the enemy, faster and you hurt the engine and burn more fuel, but those enemies can't catch up. Refuel the engine to keep the fire alive - if the flame goes out (or your train is destroyed, but who cares about that) you lose! Fuel is in the fuel cart in the back enemy.PNG I had no time to test the balance of anything, please let me know if something is whack! Thanks :=)

This game is great!
It is fun to play, the mechanics are thought out and work together well. Graphics (while simple) are consistent.
I had a really western feel, constantly running to the coal to go high speed so my health can regenerate, only to slow down to shoot bandits and and repair the rust- charming train.
I would absolutely play this as finished polished game. And I would murder for animation, where you throw out empty shells when reloading.

AMAZING :star::star::star::star::star:

To leave some actually critical feedback:
- Train could make audio clue, that health or fuel is about to run out. It is too easy to just concentrate on the bandits.
- Revolver seems to shoot a bit off to the side, but it is hard to say with so many moving parts.

I love the atmosphere of this game. Very cool to ride a train and shoot a gun in the wild west!

The bad guys seemed so strong and I was surprised to see them suddenly disappear! Would love to see them fall on the ground. or at least let the poor horse survive! 😅

also had a bit of stress while traveling in full speed mode because it was using so much fuel and I had no time to get the fuel the whole time and also paying attention on the road in front of me or any bad guys. the first thing I now do is when starting a new game is to put it on slow, this made it more relaxed.

it was fun to run around and the UI was well done. I did get a bit motion sickness because of the motion blur and I had to turn around all the time. maybe make that an option to be able to turn off.

👍fun game!

Pretty awesome mechanics. It's really cool how you have to focus on so many things at the same time.
I just felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of enimies.

Thanks for playing!
@scintillae-creations - I actually planned to add those warnings, but my sleep deprived brain just forgot. Aiming bug is noted for a next bug fix patch

@jonah - Bad motion blur, bad! The button will be added as soon as possible

@klaus-peter - Didn't have time to balance the game too much, but I agree now, the spawn rate is a bit too fast when stopped. Noted and will be fixed in the next patch

@inka-mcatee - Thanks! Yeah.. I really hate to model anything that lives and breathes... That realization came too late to be avoided though xD

Nice work - like the art style simple but effective, feels like the difficulty could Ramp up a bit slower so it doesn't become overwhelming too fast

Really fun game! I had a lot of fun trying to heal the engine without dying myself. I got to 2955 Meters before my engine burned out. 5 stars!

I played for a while so thought I'd post my score! 😁

Really liked the art style, little things like the lighting coming off of the furnace were nice.
Got my brain going about what speed to travel at to manage the resources.

All the models were great too! The train was really cute.

Simple and effective :)

Very well done! Excellent work!

Cool game! I liked how it forced me to balance multiple needs, in the end it was because I'm bad at the shooting part, that I could never really let the train stand still long enough to adequately repair itself. 1665m before my train gave up.

Really good entry, dude! The thing I would want the most to be added to the game is a mouse sensitivity setting.

Enjoyed this but the motion blur was way too much! On Mac (10.14.6), the game over screen isn't displaying any text for some reason. Nice concept with fueling the fire and fighting at the same time.

Absolutely insane you were to get that much done solo in 48 hours! Interesting idea, good execution.

Really good!! I had one moment where I think the game got confused that I reloaded because I couldn't shoot. I agree with Scintillae_Creations's comment about adding an audio cue of some kind for when you are low on health or fuel. I got only 1997m second try :/

The art style and sound really fit the mood. I feel like the number of enemies is unbalanced with the number of bullets needed to kill them. I feel like it would be better to kill them with one bullet per headshot or shoot the horse to stop them.

Gunplay was a bit tricky, but got used to it. Love the need to prioritize defenses and fuel, and loved the overall atmosphere of the game.
