The little walk by Tori
The little walk is my first ever solo project.
🌿
🌿 It's a simple little game, you walk for ~2min in the wood, and can stop to listen to bird songs if you want to :).
🐦 If you don't hear the footstep or birds song, you can turn up the volume 🐦
- Had some help with code from @brother-main, and followed Shaun Spalding's tutorial.
- Used photoshop and aseprite for visuals and animations.
- Used audacity and a good walk in the forest on sunday for the sound.

The atmosphere of an autumn walk is felt.
I like it!
<3
i'm so glad the word "cosy" is used to describe this little game, it really make me happy <3
@frederik-Boye : thank you ! i do agree with you, i'd like to make something bigger, i'm still a baby-game-maker so it's really nice to see people finding an interest even if this tiny toy :) for the sound i have to admit i had to learn everything, on my comp the sound was really loud and i didn't wanted the game to hurt anyone's ears, but i'll definetly take more time to manage the sound in my next projet ^^
@Trexxak : thanks so much, i'm so happy you like it, and that i was able to give you back a little part of me, like you did with your entry ♥
@DotSquare thanks, this mean the world to me, i never thought i would find myself recording my step in the forest with my phone, but here we are, Gamejam really make us go out of our comfort zone haha so glad it paid off !
As for Brother-Main, He is a speedrunner yeah :) are you french ? :o because i would be surprised (in a good way) if he is known out of france but i'm glad his name ring a bell to you, made my day ! ♥
@DotSquare hey bha, merci encore ! c'est incroyable comme coïncidence, j'était dans l'ud au tout début (au graphisme principalement) et ça me fait toujours très plaisir de rencontrer des gens qui ont suivis le projet ! <3
Only thing in animation that bugged me is shoulder movement, it seemed a bit exaggerated for a character whose hands are in pockets.
@pee-thief , @aless , @bredera thank you so much for taking the time to leave such kinds comment ♥
@funemaker : thanks ! i'm sorry for the sound, on my computer it was so loud i got scared it would annoy people, so i may have gone a bit too far with towning it down ^^; still a lot to learn for next time :)
Beautiful art and scenarios. Nice side-scrolling gameplay too, but like I said before, I think it would have been nice if there was a little story to go along as we explore.
Nice job :)
@nsadie : thanks for your kind comment, it make me so happy ! ♥
@celes : thanks a lot for your feedback ! you're right, i didn't try to go for the theme and it show, i wont try to lie even if the sound could count haha, i do agree with everything you said otherwise, i made the choice to go for something very very simple, as it's my first project alone, had no idea what i was doing, and had to go to work on monday but, it gives me hope for the futur, i'll make better game, and your comment will help me to improve, so thanks a lot ♥
PS: Only french keyboards use ZQSD, so it would have been nice to be able to move with A and D for most people here, I think
Little things I missed:
- A full screen mode would have added even more to the inmersion.
- The volume was too low, but enjoyable though ;-)
- Just out of curiosity, on a second "run" I went to the left to see if there was any "easter egg" o "bad ending" xDD but the character got stuck and I couldn't get here out.
- As someone already pointed out, the theme "stuck in a loop" is barely touched ^^U
Other than that, thank you again for sharing this experience with us ;-)
