Extinction is a statregy-platformer where you try to save species from extinction by guiding them to safety ! Prepare your escape by modifing the obstacles in the way of your creatures.

Each level is cut in two phases :

  • Phase 1 is all about strategy : plan the espace of your creatures by looking at the obstacles and enemies, creating safe paths by using some of your units or points. You have one minute to prepare.

  • Phase 2 is a plateformer : once your preparations are over, you must help your creatures to escape their doom. Guide them to safety one by one to the end of the level.

I loved it. The hand drawn art was a treat. The only thing that bothered me was not being able to identify what was the attacking species sometimes. Like sometimes the creature was just sitting idle and it died. Maybe I missed something, but overall enjoyable.

Really nice concept! Although I was only able to save 3 trilobites..
It would really be useful to have a key to switch to *previous* creature IMO, I tried to progress two at a time but it was too difficult.

I don't know if it's because I played it on Firefox instead of Chrome, but I didn't have to use the special skills at all to go through the level without dying. I think I only lost 3 lives.

The art style was awesome and the concept was matched with the theme. At first I didn't understand the game but eventually I got it. Keep it up!

At first it wasn't clear how to play the game. Then I got it (sort of), but still the controls were a bit clunky. The cursor highlighting worked quite strange for me. But the idea behind the game was nice, same as the art. I am giving very nice ratings.

Quite liked this game, nice idea, awesome graphics, soothing music! Would like to see more level design where you need to utilize multiple creatures if you continue on the game! Sadly the controlls stoped working for phase 1 for me and i couldint interact with anything, but it didnt really affect my experience much.
