Controls:

  • Up/Down Arrows: Select a ring. The selected ring will be yellow in the hologram.
  • Left/Right Arrows: Apply thrust to selected ring. Hold the button and carefully watch the selected ring.
  • Space: Attempt lock. Previous ring beacon must be locked (red), and selected ring beacon must be lockable (green). Match rotation velocity closely or you will break the previous lock.

Objective:

  • Align and lock all rings starting from ring 1.
  • First ring is already green and ready to lock.
  • Share your final time or total number of rings in the comments.

Story:

The Martian date is in the month of Vrishika and the year 239. You are aboard the spaceship Sagittarius - a starliner and freighter mashed into one. The ship is on its way to earth for the Earth to Mars transit.

About two weeks ago the Sagittarius was blasted with an unbelievable amount of radiation from a solar flare. The warning systems did their job and everyone had plenty of time to get into the water lined shelters. There were so few of you that everyone hunkered down in the crew shelter in the first ring. Sensors are finally indicating that is safe to exit the cramped space and get things back into shape.

I feel like if I knew how to play it would have been great, but I couldn't figure out how to "lock" the rings, and what the "rings" were. I just had trouble figuring out what was going on. The story seems very detailed and fits well

I managed to get to the third ring, couldn't do any more. Its really difficult or I'm bad, I hope its the first. Well done though! it was actually really fun and challenging.

Very challenging, I could only get a few rings locked at a time

very cool game, but I wish there was a bit a lenancy with how persice the locks have to be. it also took me a bit to figure out what was happening. I really love the visuals also

I believe I understand the goal: to get the speeds of each ring to be the same and to get the blocks on each ring to line up.

I have absolutely no idea how to do this. Left/Right (or A/D? I tried both) to modify the velocity of a ring doesn't appear to do anything.

"Locking" a ring with spacebar turns it green, but because they all travel at different speeds, they immediately turn back to yellow.

Pressing the space bar on the first ring makes the block turn red. I don't know what that means.

I managed to make a little box green and later red. That's about the extend of it. I pressed left and right but I don't think anything happened. Right now, I'm mainly feeling confused. It looks like a game I'd have fun playing - I just plainly couldn't figure out what to do unfortunately.

Managed to get one ring down, but I am kinda lost now, and don't really know how to proceed. Maybe a short tutorial level would have been helpful!

I completed the game.
My calculator tells me I took about 15 mins.
Challenging indeed, but also very fun.
With a bit more visual polish and a better explanation of how to lock the rings, the game would be perfect.
The story is outstanding nonetheless.

Very tough game, I gave up after connecting 3. It's also very confusing, I mistook the game logo for a tutorial on the opening page, so I was even more clueless once I started a new game :D (Or what is that 2D image of rings then if not a logo? It doesn't seem to have anything else to do with the rest of the game...)

It's interesting to see a game with such an abstract theme yet so detailed a backstory, but why not!

I think it would be a huge help if there were some counters for the ring speed, currently it is very hard to tell if left/right buttons are even doing anything, adding to the player's confusion.

So the controls and the difficulty curve could use some polishing, but it is a very unique entry with cool visuals that clearly had a lot of thought go into it, congrats!

The game's difficulty curve is a bit messy, It;s hard to maintain the speed and know anything due to lack of feedback to the player, love the mood and setting, I got till ring 3 and then it becomes nearly impossible to match the speeds, and maybe instead of detaching immediately a countdown \ cooldown would be nice to give the play a chance to fix the speed. I can only imagine it'll get messier as we move on to the rings.

Kudos on a unique entry, all the best!

Honestly, I was a bit lost with how the game works. There weren't enough clues that would explain stuff. I did a thing wrong, everything got red but there was no way of knowing if I should restart, if I still work with the ring or if it's locked... I'd like to play it again with little more instructions!
