Sagittarius 240 by microgravitydan

Controls:
- Up/Down Arrows: Select a ring. The selected ring will be yellow in the hologram.
- Left/Right Arrows: Apply thrust to selected ring. Hold the button and carefully watch the selected ring.
- Space: Attempt lock. Previous ring beacon must be locked (red), and selected ring beacon must be lockable (green). Match rotation velocity closely or you will break the previous lock.
Objective:
- Align and lock all rings starting from ring 1.
- First ring is already green and ready to lock.
- Share your final time or total number of rings in the comments.
Story:
The Martian date is in the month of Vrishika and the year 239. You are aboard the spaceship Sagittarius - a starliner and freighter mashed into one. The ship is on its way to earth for the Earth to Mars transit.
About two weeks ago the Sagittarius was blasted with an unbelievable amount of radiation from a solar flare. The warning systems did their job and everyone had plenty of time to get into the water lined shelters. There were so few of you that everyone hunkered down in the crew shelter in the first ring. Sensors are finally indicating that is safe to exit the cramped space and get things back into shape.

I have absolutely no idea how to do this. Left/Right (or A/D? I tried both) to modify the velocity of a ring doesn't appear to do anything.
"Locking" a ring with spacebar turns it green, but because they all travel at different speeds, they immediately turn back to yellow.
Pressing the space bar on the first ring makes the block turn red. I don't know what that means.
My calculator tells me I took about 15 mins.
Challenging indeed, but also very fun.
With a bit more visual polish and a better explanation of how to lock the rings, the game would be perfect.
The story is outstanding nonetheless.
It's interesting to see a game with such an abstract theme yet so detailed a backstory, but why not!
I think it would be a huge help if there were some counters for the ring speed, currently it is very hard to tell if left/right buttons are even doing anything, adding to the player's confusion.
So the controls and the difficulty curve could use some polishing, but it is a very unique entry with cool visuals that clearly had a lot of thought go into it, congrats!
Kudos on a unique entry, all the best!
