Experiment #31415 - The Takeover by RedSponge

[raw]
made by RedSponge for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

Welcome to a very interesting experiment

This experiment revolves around a newly made virus, which is able to take control of a human being, so that another person from a different reality could control them with their fingertips, therefor - The Takeover.

Your goal in this game is simple - Don't let the virus die. It will die if its host dies. It will die if its host is healed. You will do what you must to keep the virus alive.

Enjoyable game! Jumping between people is a lot of fun. With the inclusion of a tutorial, it really feels like a complete package.
If only real diseases were so easy to kill

Really nice game! Love both the audio and the game mechanic of switching between characters. Reminds me of my favorite game Driver San Fransisco. Not really much to point out that's wrong, probably the most complete game I've played so far.

Huh, this game really surprised me. Different concept, smooth game play, challenging design and interesting mechanics. Usually I complain a lot, but I can't find anything wrong about this game, really well done.

Very nice concept! A bit hard to control, also hard in general, but I really liked the idea. The tutorial was a nice touch.

This is definitely one of my favorite games I've found so far in the competition - it took me a bit to realize all the mechanics (especially that you could cycle through targets), but after I did, the controls seemed really nice and fluid and generally fun to play with. The tutorial was really excellent - I somehow had a bit of trouble and ran out of syringes before the immune person arrived the first time I played the tutorial (and so couldn't finish), but, that aside, it was a very well executed tutorial. It really starts to heat up when the doctors start becoming immune. I wouldn't mind a greater variety of challenge - maybe some "higher tiers" of doctors with special abilities (e.g. shielding nearby people from disease) - but it's quite fun even as it is. Well done.

While I don't appreciate the timing of making a game about a virus killing people while so many people in the world are suffering in the pandemic, the game was executed quite nicely.

The recorded sounds is a cool touch

And the fact that there's some tutorial is nice as well.

Keep up the good work.
