Responsibility by Szkocka

[raw]
made by Szkocka for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Few minutes long isometric adventure game with multiple different endings about trying to fix the wrongs you did to someone or something, possibly failing really bad, possibly making a friend. Every asset is hand made by me in the time of the Jam, same goes for audio that was 50% my motorcycle pants going through Audacity. When it comes to the Author(that is me) I never had any kind of experience with any kind of coding/making assets until 3 weeks ago Its my first ever finished project. The menu is whats left from original game idea. Have fun playing and exploring world that I created, oh, I forgot to mention this world plays by... different rules.

Controls:

W/A/S/D is movement, shift is for sprint

SPACE is for interaction with objects

F is for checking current objective

Tips and tricks:

There are doors to the garage in the up-right direction.

You need to find at least one item and bring it back to your guest.

If you have a problem in a game[SPOILERS!]:

!> In the first level you have to get an item and come back to the car where the green light is[two items in the bar, one in the garage]

!> In the second level you need to reply to the cop by choosing answers that are being given to your inventory by him(Items you picked up before return to their original places). Later you have to get correct item and bring it to the alien location. And then get back to the alien and give him item.[two items in kitchen, one in bar, three in bathroom]

Thanks for playing.. I forgot to mention that in the credits, sorry <3

I liked it, pretty funny. One suggestion would be to make the doorways more visible, it took me a moment to realize how to get inside the house.

@vizitas funny you mention that, I noticed at the end of the development, because The level was designed with thought of ability to change camera. Thanks for playing :)

Very nice idea for a game to start with. Loving the vibe and graphics. You can see a lot of effort and love in this game and those assets. The only little problem is that I didn't figure out what to do. Or to put it precisely, what to do to the alien, and with what without game overing the game. But really nice job on the game.

I really liked this one. The cinematics were impressive and the graphics and camera kinda reminded me of those old handheld Sims games (like Sims Bustin Out). I also agree with @vizitas about the doors, as it took me a bit to find them.

I couldn't figure out how to save the alien though :frowning: . I killed him with the first aid kit, then I was caught by the government. Adding the ability to skip the first cutscene would help improve the experience a lot IMO, since the game seems to be about trial-and-error, and every error forces you to restart.

I always dreamed about having an alien friend... Too bad I have accidentally killed him, and caused an alien invasion.

Then I played Responsibility, and it is a cute little game ;)

I love that you are pushing the theme on "keep it alive." Amazing what you accomplished in the span of three days (hope you slept). I generally agree with what people have said above: really well executed graphics and audio - can be kinda difficult knowing what to do/where to go (I see you added a spoiler above).

It is funny, but i found my self confused with gameplay. I tried to get alien drunk, but the goverment came and ruined my plans.

Super clever Take on the theme. It's a bit too surreal for me, bug it's an impressive big of work, especially given that you haven't done this stuff before.

Well, that's quite impressive, got my attention and kept me hooked. Literal interpretation of the theme done right, cool visual perspective - isometric, which I love.

besides the footsteps being a bit loud, I enjoyed the game and the cinematics throughout it. The different endings encourages re-playability and I liked the look of the title screen too! :)

@injured Yeah I kinda slept 4 hours twice and once 8h.

@detkakorben I heard that a lot lately, I wasnt able to get enough time to polish the game before submitting.

@vex I believe I will be making video about what I planned for the game and what I finally was able to deliver. There were a lot more content planned.

@nikchernyakov That was the point

@splitpainter I chose isometric cause it too, sad thing is I didnt have time to implement rotating camera and controller support

@cosmiccrystalgames The title screen was supposed to use the first cutscene as background, but as always, no time to implement ;c

**Thanks for playing Everyone ;3**
