WORK ROUTINE by ROBOWARRIOR1982
"The action take place in CHICAGO in the Loop District, you are a businness-man (or woman), and you begin a new day same as the precedent day."
Give a chance to this material design narrative experience !

Use a XBOX gamepad to play or WASD to move and ENTER to perform special action, to interact with environnement press W or up on your gamepad.

I made all the asset alone in the jam duration (but i miss the compo).
I used GAMEMAKER STUDIO 1.4, Inkshape for graphics,audacity/Labchip for sound fx, and MusicMatch for music loop.

Gameplay wise, I think the idea of going through the same motions over and over should lend itself to some form of progression to better indicate that the game ends after ten loops. If I didn't read so in the comments beforehand, I probably would have stopped at loop 4 or 5. Maybe something like the newspaper displaying some countdown text, so that the player picks up the hint that the game is supposed to go on for a certain amount of time. Then it can culminate to a certain "ending" or "conclusion", or just keep looping forever... :stuck_out_tongue:
The game's ability to be thought provoking is its greatest strength. I enjoy the way the scenario unfolded visually. It's simple and it packs a punch.
I liked the concept and artwork for sure. I tried to escape the loop, but didn't see a way to do so. Just like working in real life. XD
I personally am not very receptive to this type of experience, but I understand it.
It's a nice entrance.
@liess yes i agree, in the jam duration i made my best but i didn't put all my ideas and graphics into the game, that's a good start if you liked it.
Thanks you @dani-tufeld for your comment i appreciate it.
@kaiomoi i can understand what you can't adhere to this kind of concept, i wanted to made something different and who talk about work routine in accord to the theme, an experience who push the player to think about him and his personnal situation too, i think that's not perfect, but it work. Thanks to your comment !
Altogether a very good experience. I enjoyed it.
I like the graphics they made me think of "catch me if you can" title sequence but I didn't understood what the bars on the top left were representing, may need some variety in the interactions and events.
Good audio also. Nice entry.
Yes money it don't really usefull in the game actually, maybe i will want to add an arcade room for example or a loterie or an attraction park game where you can ameliorate your mental state and pay enter or ticket, but the final idea is : you work win a lot of money, and don't have time to spend them. Money is important sure but the most important things is your health and your mental stability.
Gameplay is easy to get into and I'm left with a feeling that there is some secret I haven't found :)
Cheers!
