Keep Baby Alive!!! by sievo

Baby in danger!! Save Baby!! Don't let die!

Very quick game I threw together for my first LD entry, and first completed(?) game ever!!! After abandoning my first concept in the first 12 hours for a simpler scope, I came up with this and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I hope you like it and have a little fun too!

the control and feel of this game is elegant and well made, it also feels surprisingly good. I think a more proactive goal would sute the game better.

Love the concept. Maybe would've wished the paddle had a bit more air coming out of it but overall a great idea for a game.

Thanks for the comments! I do wish I had time to add more mechanics @lees-pac, I think I might keep working on it!
@stickle It does "blow" a little harder with each level, but maybe starting a bit higher would have been good.

Overall nice job! I know this is above the scope of LD, but if you tinkered with the horizontal control a bit more this would be super fun as a side scroller, as you propelled the baby through a level with obstacles and such. For the current scope, it would've been great to have a bit more noticeable variation as the levels continued, even just via a little effect on the paddle or something that showed that the push was getting stronger—I didn't really notice just from playing. It also may have been nice if the baby 'bounced' off the side walls a little bit, I felt like I could kinda cheat by getting the baby against a wall, then moving my mouse away and back towards the wall and keeping it there indefinitely so I didn't have to worry about horizontal movement. But the movement felt controllable and good, nice job with that!

A simple execution but very playable game. It's just like taking care of a really baby: Keeping it away from spikes for an indefinite period of time.

The game is surprisingly fun! Also how did that baby end up in this situation?

Nice simple entry. Great exercise in reducing scope to hit the deadline :)
Gameplay-wise, once you get the baby stuck against the edge, it becomes fairly easy to win - maybe if there were some random gusts of air from other directions it would make the game a bit more challenging.
