Cool game, I liked playing it. My biggest gripe is that you move frustatingly slow, it would be better to increase the movement speed and 1: either make the hammers further apart or 2: make the timer lower.

I'm unsure how much of the level you created yourself, so I think you should add that in the description, so that I can properly rate it with that in mind. :) Otherwise pretty cool entry

This game just looks amazing! You just want to look around and enjoy the beautiful vistas. Unfortunately it's a running game, so you never have time for that. It was hard for me to make it to the end in time. And I was quite disappointed, that nothing special happens, when you reach the goal. I think this game would have benefittet from a slower game mechanic, maybe puzzle game. Or at least an explorer mode without time pressure. But other than that, really solid level design!

@gautstafr thanks for your feedback! I updated it in the description (I made level design from scratch, but I used free asets to dress it and made the lighting and audio on top of it).
About speed, yeah maybe you are right, but I wanted to make it so even though you are in a rush, you can actually use the slow walking pace to be able to look at the scenario ^-^

@merlinnsound Thank you! I wanted to create a hard contrast between the relaxed walking simulator and the frenetic running experience. The ending is actually supposed to mean something related to the theme :P I am glad you liked the level design <3

I like playing this game! I had to be very fast and remember the path, great concept and very beautiful environment! Good job

That is one big file but I forgot how nice Unreal looks. The level was short enough that replaying it did not feel like a chore, which is good. I like how it fits the theme too but it wasn't obvious at first. Nice job.

Good job on your game.

Friendly criticism below:
I didn't get past the first area. I couldn't find the 4th hammer and I got frustrated with the resets.
I really have no Idea where it could be lol some kinda hint system after x amount of resets might be a nice idea for people who are as bad as me.

I think FPS games NEED a sensitivity slider, and a Y-axis invert option.
I was spinning like crazy! lol

PS you should ad some screenshots to your description!

@ismael-rodriguez thanks! Hey so there's not a single Hammer that is not in plain sight to be honest. I wouldn't know which is the one you missed but I will take your fb into consideration, including the slider part, thank you!

PS: I added some screenshots, thanks for that too!

@manusaiz Okay I gave it another shot.

***spoiler warning?***
So my first run I took a left out the first door, crossed the gap, then found the hole to drop to the bottom area, so I found the 2 hammers down there and the switch. I stepped on the switch and it told me I needed 4 hammers. Got reset. So I found that other hammer next to that switch on top, but ignored the switch because I thought it would just tell me I needed 4 hammers lol.... playing it again I stepped on that switch and boom bang, the 4th hammer lol!

Cool game! Nice worldbuilding, wish there were some more ways to optimize your route, like bunny hopping or climbing some more hidden paths! Well done.

The atmosphere is really nice. (Spoilers) Couldn't find the hammer that's near one of the buttons at first but managed to find it after a few tries. After finding all 4 for the first time I ran out of time just before completing the game, haha

tip for future jams, opt out of humour if your game doesn't have any

Nice game! I liked the atmosphere. The sound and level design worked well together :).

I did get kind of annoyed by the timer, because I found all hammers on my first try but it took 4 tries to actually get there. I would always run out of time right before the goal, which made the slow door opening kinda frustrating haha. Maybe the hammers could also be checkpoints? Idk, but great entry nonetheless :).

I liked the setting.

Also I'm speedrunning, my time is -1.5 seconds.

@kaiomoi thanks!

@hjalte Thank you! It is thought so that you need to optimize your route on every try! But I will take your fb into account, thank you for that too!

@vonflaken Thanks! Haha well let's see if someone can beat you ^-^

Really good graphics, why there is no graphics field to rate? I would get it 5/5. Talking about game mechanics, it is too simple to gain fun or make a challenge or deliver an idea. And I don't think that it suits the theme. This way every game may be called "Stuck in a loop", aren't we reloading every time we failing in Skyrim? =) 3.5/5 overall, still playable and looks solid.

@oddmes Hey! You can place that into the level design gauge, I'd say that's Fun and Mood(as for an aesthetically pleasing and interesting walk) I didn't want to open the art field because even though I built the scenario, I used base free assets from the Unreal store.

(You need to beat it to see how the theme fits).

@manusaiz How should I know if I beat it? Is there anything which differs after I passed the level with four hammers?
stuckne1
10. Oct 2020 · 00:35 UTC
Lots of fun! It took me a few tries, but I ended up beating it with like 0 time to spare lol.

I noticed a minor bug though...on the last gate it always says are 4 more hammers required even if you just need 1 more.

Sweet game!

@stuckne1 nicely done! (You are right, will fix it real quick)

@oddmes you must complete the cycle after you get the hammers! (getting all hsmmers is not the end of the game).

@somogy & @rushikesh-charapale you are too kind!

nice game, good level design, a bit hard to my opinion, couldn't reach the end after several tries, with 1.5 seconds missing.
but great job never the less!!!

@dani-tufeld thank you! Yeah as I only had time to do one level it's a bit hollistic so beating this level is beating the game, and the portal is the final boss lol.

Thanks!

Pretty. The sound design was nice. Waiting for the first and last door to open was frustrating given the speed run nature of the game. All of the decorations added to the mood of the game. Nice level design.

good entry fun concept would work great as a collection games I would say make more ways to increase the timer for difficulty overall great concept
