Yes, he's kind of old fashioned, his clothes seems outdated. Not because he just spent his weekend in the last Burning Man event, but because he's a cave man.

Hello there! Have you ever dreamed about being a cave man, fighting giant bloodthirsted moscitos? If yes, this is your lucky day! If no, well... you can still give it a try.

In Rogue Magnon, you start with nothing...

...then eventually you will find the finest crafted sword available 15 000 years old ago, or a deadly spear if you are more into distance combat (moscitos are pretty big, watch out!), or even a cool helmet that will hide your balded head.

At the end of each one of your combat, you will get stronger. However, everything as a cost, this is why you will loose all your equipment in exchange of your newly acquired experience. Then, you will start the next level with nothing again.

Controls:

  • Move: WASD/ZQSD/Arrow Keys
  • Orientation: Mouse
  • Mace attack: Left click
  • Bow attack: Right click
  • Show Experience: Tab key

This game is pretty good. I like the constant struggle between wanting to use your items and wanting to hold onto them to get the level boost; it's a interesting dynamic. Graphics were good and the game seems well programmed. My only complaint though would have to be the controls. The arrow keys and mouse don't work very well. I would have used the traditional wasd since that always feels nice.

Other than that, great work. Real polished game for a game jam.

Game is interesting, but the controls were very confusing and it was hard to move to the next areas

@ajahks the game is playable with ZQSD (AZERTY keyboard...) but you can use ALT+Shift to change your keyboard to AZERTY

This game is really interesting ! Controls are a little bit difficult but it is fun and the chara design is original :D. Good work for a game jam !

P.S:Charter sometimes doesnt look to mouse.
