Fun Game. Maybe Make there be a scale of options instead of flat depending on your progress

I like the concept, but the game play is to bare-bones.

@cpokered thank you, I'm glad you find it enjoyable. I definitely thought about implementing something like that, but did not have the time.

@animo-tree Thank you for playing! I definitely agree that it is quite bare-bones. I had many ideas for how the progression would work, few of which I had time to implement.

I wish the next thing I need would be smewhere nearby. I was looking for pens for way too long.
Otherwise very neat adaptation.

Wandering around got a little boring, as finding who I really needed took far too long. The idea itself though is great. The graphics are really nice, the animations and the fading in/out of buildings is lovely. I like the music and SFX too. Just wish there was a little more substance.

@asimov thank you! Glad you liked the parallax. There's definitely an issue with finding things, since all the trades the NPC's offer are purely randomized, there's always a risk that you can go a long while without finding a trade for something you need.

---

@evgenimp Yes, this is definitely an issue with the game currently, the trades are always completely randomized, to if you're unlucky it can take a while to find the trade you need. Thank you for playing!

---

@bocodillo I'm happy you liked the animations and music and SFX. I definitely agree the gameplay is quite barebones. I had more planned but did not have the time to implement the system fully.

Got totally hooked :p The progression felt just right - just when you start getting frustrated you find the next item you need! My only complaint would be that I found the buildings to be a bit distracting as they faded in and out. Great job on an awesome game.

That was neat! Loved how many different-looking characters you were able to get in. Nice music and sprites. Do agree with previous commenters that it got a bit slow. Some of the partnerships seemed less useful than others (not a lot of people seemed interested in food, for example) so it would've been cool to be able to cancel them. Very charming overall! Love that walk cycle. And cool to see Godot! 💙

It is sometime hard to find the right people to have the right items, but the concept is interesting, I love the graphics and the music is good. Well done!

@hastro Thank you so much!

@ava-skoog Thank you for your feedback! I do agree that it does get slow, and finding what you want can be hard.

@solah It makes me really happy that you like the music, it's the first time I actually made music for a LD game.

so im not sure -- i enjoyed looking around and collecting paperclips -- but then i started trading paperclips for erasers and then i could not complete something else -- enjoyed the graphics and interaction with the npc -- good game

It took me a while to find what I needed. I still applaud you for getting good art and music in your game concidering you made it in only 48 hours.

I will repeat a little what was put in the previous comments but I find the music and effects of transitions really top. it gives a more immersive side to the game Certe, we must remember that this is a 48h version and that everything is not implemented but it is still a very good base and a very good concept. Well done !

This was a really fun game. Really enjoyed playing this. The audio is top-notch and I quite liked the art/setting for it as well. I loved the weird babbling sounds for talking too, made me laugh.

I really enjoyed this, but I didn't get all the way to the end where I could get a city. I found it really hard to find the people who would give me apartments! Loved the graphics and loved the audio, it was a good backdrop to the experience.
