I had tons of fun playing this, and I was worried that it would get repetitive and old, doing the same thing over and over again, but the platforming was pleasantly tight and the controls were solid. Seeing more jobs and more ideas coming from this game would be awesome! Definitely a lot of potential here!
Thanks!
Only crit is that each time you made a pizza or took out the trash, it could have been a new Trash can or new obstacles each time
deserves more attention im my opinion!
keep up the good work
It's a dead heat in style for a Commodore 64 classic called Rags to Riches.
The ending here is much funnier though!
Rags to Riches had one more layer - when you were down on your luck, burglars would try to steal your pocket cash so you had to bank it. Unfortunately, that game also had a game breaking IRS agent who could wipe out your entire bank, severely decreasing the fun! But the burglar might be a nice touch. You'd duck into places to get away from him.
Visually, the graphics are certainly different than Rags to Riches, but broadly the same pixel depth or so. So I could see a Jam game with the extra time and human power bridging the gap of 30 years!
An interesting play tip for people I learned on that one, is to "over-qualify" before moving up. So it turns out, the Pizza Chef is quite irritating as a platform grind! It's much easier to churn the Bin Man all the way to the specs for the secret door.
Small Businesses are exhausting! :)
On the design side, I guess some more hints required to explain the player what the first job is. Maybe shake the news stand when you are passing by... The E hint is small and can be missed. Other jobs are easy to figure out once you got the idea how to make money. So the main focus should be on the first job.
