Chemical Horror by The Blue Hatted

Chemical Horror.png

You have created a creature. You can create this creature as you please, but be careful. Remember that it's alive.

You have DNA points, you can waste them on parts of your creature.

Start of CH.png

You can open a To do List ("E") to know what to do.

After you waste them all, you get to be in sandbox mode.

Made a small change in the game. You get an achievement for completing the to do list! (Still on time!) Thanks to the feedback of @hjalte!

(Sorry if it lags if too many parts are in your creature,)

This game is great. I love the concept and it's presented beautifully. You even got a few scientists overlooking your creation, brilliant.

That said I'm not really sure how to win? I did all the things on the list and nothing happened, so I figured it was just a sandbox to play around, which would be cool, but then I lost? Not sure if I was supposed to do something?

Minor flaw aside, this is a great lil thing, ya got here :).

Thanks for the feedback @hjalte!
And yeah, i didn't put an ending, i just made it that after you made everything you could just play around with it, the list just tels you the achievements of the game, and there is 4 secret ones. I added that when you ran out of DNA points you could have infinite points (sandbox).

(Made a last second update. You get an achievement for completing the To do List!)

Interesting idea and the art design is very cute. Could definitely use more content and the fact that my mouse was not in the same location as the in game cursor was annoying. Otherwise, I think you could do something interesting with this. You could make objectives like getting up to some high location or killing some other monsters to accomplish with your created monstrosity.

I like the grid-based-biology. It seems odd to me that you can place a hand (maybe more than one), a foot (maybe more than one), a flesh, and an eye block in one block. I couldn't figure out how to grab boxes, and I was a bit disappointed that the bombs don't damage the creature. I liked it though, and the scientists watching and the buttons were well drawn. :)

@voxelv You can place everything in one block beacuse i really didn't figure out how to delete that bug, so i left it because at the end, it didn't really affect the gameplay too much. You can grab boxes with enter (but sometimes it's kinda wonky).

The idea is interesting.
I thought that the elements in the 'toolbar' were unavailable at first because they are all gray. Changing the color would probably be enough to make it more clear.

The achievement system appears to be a bit broken when you restart a game because I got some achievements without doing anything.
I also found it difficult to correlate the entries in the TODO-List with the names of the achievements that are displayed. You could cross out the TODO-List when a task is done or change its colors.

@nodli I don't really know why the achievements didn't work out well for you, but the to do list doesn't indicate you anything because i putted it as a last second thing because whitout it, it wasn't really clear what to do.

I **really** like the art and the sounds! The idea of building a creature in this way is also very neat. I just wish there would have been more to do with the creature, but I guess the game as it is was already quite a huge chunk of work for one weekend. Good job!
