The jam ends in 1 second by Tadeas Paule

made by Tadeas Paule for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

This game tells a story of being under time pressure to make a game for a game jam. Wait...

Somehow this idea got into my head when I found out the theme, so the game is about literally making a game from nothing. Like in a game jam.

What makes this even more twisted is that this is also my first game jam, so it was a very two-way experience for me, and often how I felt inspired how I want the player to feel in this game.

Thank you for checking this out, let me know what I could've done better, and see you on the next jam :)

YAY~ You did an amazing job :D It's a great level builder prototype. The walking enemies will block each other out when you have multiple of them on one platform ;)

@fictions Thank you! Yeah, was experiencing a lot of bugs throughout the weekend. Hopefully the enemies blocking each other is the least that's left in :D Literally Sunday afternoon was just bugfixing for hours and hours

This is a clever idea. Very "meta"! I like the sandbox feel of the game. I wasn't immediately clear on how to use the left-hand toolbox, but I figured it out after a fresh start.

This is overall a pretty fun little combo game. I really like the game idea, but it feels a bit unfinished. For a first jam game this is pretty good. For your next game jam I would recommend you to make a bit simpler and a bit more polished game.

I was impressed when I was able to play each stage. The timer in the BG was a nice touch.

The stage transition screens (improve/proceed) were muddied by the game in the background.

After a certain point I wasn't sure how to progress to the next stage as clicking the button didn't do anything. This was when I had 'more levels' and 'publish' in my to-do list. I assume that faliure was intentional as I tried creating a bunch of levels, but would've liked to know for sure.

@corrade Hi, sorry for that experience! You're supposed to end the game by clicking Publish. Tooltips were one feature I really wanted to add but couldn't fit in the limited time :(

I hope you didn't have as hard time as I did when making your game :D

Nice work for a first shot, you can be proud !

This is an amazing idea, and the fact that you can actually play your own level is very satisfying.

I got stuck when i had to click on the button "next stage", it did nothing , did i missed something or was that a bug ?

A cool concept, very stressful with the constant blinking number in the background. Perhaps it could be cleaner, but I enjoyed it :)

@cyriaque Thank you :) Might be a bug, it was a buggy hell all throughout Sunday. I managed to fix most of them, but I guess some slipped by :( I know the button is purposefully disabled when in game mode, but should work fine in edit mode...

That was super fun! Nice take on the theme, controls felt natural most of the time and I could what I wanted as I got the pieces together. Great little paths you could take to get to some interesting levels. Good job for your first time!

For being your first game jam, I'd say this is an extremely solid entry. The gameplay was smooth and well polished, and the theme well used. After publishing I felt slightly left hanging however, as if all was for naught.

The only problem I encountered was I could not select the spikes I had put down, :/

Other than that, fantastic job

Facinating pice of game this here haha, like the idea, could use some further development, but some aspects where amazing. i loved the intro splash, clean and neat.

all in all, a great level builder, without any great purpose other that making and playing your own levels. all in 600 seconds tho and that's cool haha.

I like it, very meta and relatable. I could really feel the pressure! I would've liked it if you could play the finished product at the end, but really that's nothing major. Great job!

From the moment I saw the thumbnail I knew I was gonna love this, and I did! The anxiety of time ticking down is really well presented here. I'm just disappointed that there is no end screen, where your game gets a rating and comments. That would have been really funny!
