That's a fun multiplayer game idea. I can see myself playing this with my friends and it probably has the potential of ruining friendships - but in a good way :D

What a nostalgic aesthetic! I think the gameplay could be a little faster, perhaps 1 minute instead.

This is pretty great. I wish I had someone here to play it with!

Keep up the good work!

I really like the concept, and I do love so much couch gaming! This is innovative, the music is cool, visuals are nicely flashy. I might just have added very light sfx for shape dropping and landing. I really like your game, great job!

The gameplay is simple and easy to play. My left hand play happy with my right hand. The lighting feel is fantasitic and comfortable. Good Job!

Cozy and polished. Although there doesn't seem to be much strategy to stacking, other than to maybe hug a wall. I reckon slippery shapes like the capsule, sphere and cone are responsible for this. Maybe different forms or 'stickier' surfaces could've helped in this department.

The hardest part of this game was to find someone to play with. Other than that, really nice and simple and can get quite competitive which leads to some fun and laughs. Love it!

I liked this game a lot. If you incorporated some kind of online lobby to find people to play against this could do well!

The game is amazing. The graphics are clean and very well polished. Honestly this looks like one of those games that if made online, will be a blast. Had to play with myself for now but the concept is just so attractive. Great work!

Cool game with the mood of the old school, a very interesting rethinking of Tetris!

Awesome game. One of the best and most complete entries I've played so far. It's simple but therein lies it's charm. Nice bgm and very clean graphics. It was a great call to make the pieces glow and reflect in the background.

One of the few multiplayer games I've seen on here. Ended up playing it with one of my friends and it was a lot of fun :D

Cool multiplayer ! Finished by smashing down button and putting all objects on a corner ! The minimalistic art style works well !

Very cool party game. I think you should consider developing this beyond Ludum Dare!

Neat game. Love the rimlit look of the pieces. I think the physics feel a bit too floaty, and it would be good if the players just had a tad more control.

I was captivated by the design, it seemed very nice! The game is very easy, and simple. Everything about this games is showing how very simple elements can make something interesting when put together.

Fun concept and look that really popped off of the screen. Filling up from nothing worked out way more with these shapes and physics playing into it.

I lost against myself! I wanted the left side to win, gaaaah. XD
Cool game anyhow. It's a simple but effective idea I can see be plenty of fun with 2 players. Maybe I'll play it again sometime with my sister...

I like that this game is very simple, but it works perfectly. Good track on the background, brings nostalgia for old games.

didn't have two people so I played both, interesting game and difficult to play. It should have some sort of way to mess with the other person like Tetris.

Very nice game. Beat @glukoosi 2-1 in this game. He was angry. Very fun game ;)
And mad props to the voice acting too :)))

Nice game !
Two ways to improve it reduce the time of the game (2min is a bit long) and then decrease the time between piece spawn.

I played with myself :D nice retro game with bright colours and good music. I found it just a little slow and dued to the apparently uniformity of pieces I couldn't think about a real strategy to win. Maybe just varying the size more? My game is also about organizing things in space and I saw that adding bigger objects helps to make things more interesting and challenging.

First multiplayer jam game I've tried, so props for that!

It felt like the best strategy was to keep propping stuff up against a wall, which led to less interesting play over time. It would have been cool to have options to make my opponents life more challenging :P

Overall I love that you explored one mechanic and got something quite polished. Props!

Thank god I have friends. Unfortunately, friends are tiny little cheaters who win by pushing a block against the wall so it wont fall down :|
Nice game though!

Very cool aesthetic, love the effects, sound, music, and announcer voice! I think it would be nice to see a variety of level types, potentially starting with larger objects so the stack up goes faster, and using the current smaller size for more advanced levels. Great job, and thanks for doing a multiplayer game for the jam!

Cool with a local multiplayer game, played it vs my gf and we had a blast (I won). I liked the graphics, the audio (specially the voice acting), they all contributed to a great mood in the game. Really well done!

Need to do more games to confirm this : Pushing down again and again is more efficient than placing manually. Spam down and you win... So beware the LORD OF SPAMING !

Great UI and visuals, interesting reconstruction of tetris idea. But dynamics of the game is kinda saggy - maybe session should be shorter idk.

I kind of wish it showed the height value of your stack so I could compete with myself over multiple games, since I didn't have someone to play it with, but it's great to know it's a multiplayer game! The graphics are good and the physics work well.

he game is fun and dynamic, I would like it to be on the phones, but games with similar sea graphics can get lost in the sea similar, although it has every chance to shoot.

Since the spawner goes left and right pretty quick, I think the optimal strategy is just to spam as many block as possible out to get a higher stack. Since the pieces that come out are random, then the end result could be either player? Perhaps if a player spammed down and held left or right so the likelihood of it stacking against the wall is higher. I liked the visuals, but would like more strategy in the gameplay. Keep up the good work!

Now that LD45 has ended I have decided to uploaded a new version of the game. I have in this new version of the game tried to improve the game based on some of your feedback. You can try the version of the game here https://jk5000.itch.io/the-drop-to-the-top
